Located next to the large and brightly colored "BELIZE" letters on the water, this lighthouse seems unique. We did a quick drive-by view of it on the way to the pier.

Across the street are a few food vendors so the best way to see a few Belizean sites would be to visit the BELIZE letters, walk 50 yards to the Baron Bliss Lighthouse, then get a quick bite to eat, including ice cream. You can do all of these things within 30 minutes.

In a nice quiet area of the city (though not far from downtown at just about a 10-minute walk from here) is this about-medium-sized lighthouse which is not much of a remarkable structure in itself but one I'm sure is a "distinct landmark" of Belize; and just in a very close vicinity to this lighthouse is also another national landmark which is not just a simple sign spelling out the name of the country but one consisting of nice-sized letters each with a different color; and yes quite a nice photo-op is one with both the Lighthouse & the Name Sign along with the "wide-open sea" right behind them (by standing beside the Name Sign and taking the pic in like a diagonal position with the Lighthouse at the back). Also likely a good timing or such was being here at about 3 or 4 pm when the sea was like "a sheet of silver sparkles" created by the afternoon sun as seen after going up the short stone wall near the Lighthouse (really somewhat of a "unique scene" I would say to enjoy from this relaxing location with actually also like a cafe just across the street from the Lighthouse although not having tried it myself).

And not right next to it like the 'Belize' sign but just at about a 5-minute walk away from this lighthouse is a memorial park or such (a "somewhat sizeable" rectangular lawn area) with some few cannons & national flags and also a number of these "small multi-colored" structures likely some storage facilities (and a good view of the park from the small round-shaped pavilion or such on the lawn).

Not much here, but easy parking in the area and a great place to meet for tours. We met here for two tours.

It's within walking distance of the Radisson and the Belize sign. Quick stop, easy for tourists to get a photo. *If my review was helpful to you, please click the “thumbs-up” below - thanks!

This was a photo op while touring Belize City on the Calypso Train Tour. There is so much history about Baron Bliss, the 5th Baron of Portugal who is entombed in front of the lighthouse. It is also referred to as Fort George Light. It is a 50 ft. concrete lighthouse by the harbor of Belize City, at Fort George Point, at the entrance to Belize City Harbor. It is operational and serves as an active aid to navigation and memorial. The lighthouse was designed by Baron Bliss and at his request prior to his death to be entombed there. A yearly regatta is held in the harbor in his honor. A great benefactor to Belize City. Only the grounds are open to the public. A great photo op. Check it out and also its history!

The location not really far from the city center if you don't mind walking in the heat.
The lighthouse is near BELIZE monument not far from the harbor of cruise ships.
Is nothing special about it, but if you're in the area, you may continue walking to the lighthouse.

Walked around the lighthouse and liked the quiet atmosphere surrounding it. It is right next to the Belize sign.

This might be one of the "Top sights" in Belize City, but that says more about Belize Cit than the Lighthouse.

It is a small insignificant lighthouse in a boring place. Definitely not worth a visit.

Most entertaining thing was that we meet a homeless guy that normally hangs out there. He told us a nice story of Belize for a little "tip". So if going there, see if you can find him.

This is a modest structure, nothing exceptional. At it's foot is Baron Bliss's tomb. Its located at the tip of St George area. There's a small park across.
