From start to finish, this excursion was by far the best I’ve ever been to!!! I’ve been on 4 cruises and the care, safety, knowledge of the staff was phenomenal!!! Apollo and his crew were high energy, friendly and very keen on safety. At any time during the tour, I felt safe navigating through the waters with sharks and stingrays. Very well organized. Exotic Tours-Belize was a fabulous experience!!!!

By far the BEST tour we've had, and we have discerning taste! Thanks Bernie, Luther and Sydney for being our guides. The bus ride flew by with Bernie's comical and informative commentary. Luther kept us safe with his driving, and Sydney answered our questions and made the archeology come alive for us. You're a great team and we highly recommend your tour!

We had a great day on the sharks and rays snorkeling excursion. We enjoyed the boat ride to the snorkeling spot and saw some beautiful fish and sea life including a manatee and eels. My kids loved seeing the rays and sharks too, and even were able to hold them. The guides were informative and kept us safe. Herbie was a great guide on the boat! We enjoyed our time on caye caulker which is absolutely beautiful. We wished we had more time but because this is a farther away spot there’s a tight schedule to get us back to the ship on time. The only feedback is the snorkeling group seemed a little large because everyone kept bumping into each other, but also the water was choppy so that may have been part of it.

Two stars for the fact that you get a real close up experience with sharks and rays. Here’s the downside - and there were many - crammed like sardines in a small boat out to the caye, way too many people to comfortably look at anything in the water. I’m not sure anyone didn’t get kicked in the head more than once in the shark/ray area. When we got to the reef, we were required to stay with the group, which spent the majority of the snorkel time over sand and seaweed. We kept being told to stay away from the reef so we wouldn’t actually touch it. I’m a trained snorkeler who has taken marine biology class, and it was so incredibly frustrating to be yelled at to get away from the reef. Too many groups snorkeling in the same spot, so again, bumping into one another constantly. Logistics on the boat at each stop were a mess. Waiting for snorkels, waiting for fins, I clarify on where to exit the boat - again packed like sardines so it was impossible to put stuff on when passed out.
Lazy lizard lunch was a rip off. So slow, food was fine, but we barely made it back to the tour boat in time. Drink guy never took our order. It was hot and we were so thirsty.
Definitely wouldn’t pay this kind of money for this experience.

The tour guides were excellent. However, the transportation was a nightmare. Princess Cruise contracted with Exotic to take us to Myan Ruins. The bus had filthy windows, so one could not view the countryside on the two hour trip one way. The restroom was beyond a nightmare. Several seats were broken. My back has been killing me since.

We took the Lamanai river cruise and Mayan ruin tour and so far it has been the best part of our trip! Our tour guides Ali and Brown were awesome and super informative. I learned so much about Belize and the Mayan culture. The bus ride went by super fast because Brown was telling us all about the country of Belize. The boat ride out to the ruins was fun. The Mayan ruins were worth the trip out there. It was amazing. The lunch they provided afterwards was delicious. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone.

We bought this excursion for a port day from a cruise and had so much fun! Apollo was our guide and gave us some great information about Belize on the water taxi ride (shoutout to Captain Scott, Asher, and Brandon!) from the cruise to Rendezvous Caye.
The snorkeling was great! Jamal and Eric were great guides in the water, pointing out lots of coral types and fish. We even saw a huge stingray as we were leaving! The water was clear and a lovely temperature. The island was small in a lovely intimate way. We bought a nice lunch and a little souvenir before headed back. A great day! Highly recommend!

We did a tour of the Xunantunich ruins outside of Belize. Our tour guide,Joyce was absolutely fantastic. We all learned a lot about Belize. Despite problems docking the
Ship she got us to the ruins and we were able to learn and enjoy our visit.
When returning to cruise ship there was an accident on the two lane road and we were delayed about two hours.
She was very professional in handling all of this. The ship was contacted and we were assured that they would be waiting for us.
She was smart, entertaining, and made this tour a great joy.
I highly recommend the Exotic tour company. They did a great job

Went to the Lamanai Ruins through Carnival. Nuri and Araceli were outstanding guides! Nuri is extremely knowledgeable and made the trip so much more enjoyable! Araceli was funny and very kind as well! Ruins were awesome and the jungle so beautiful to walk through and shaded. We also heard howler monkeys which the kids loved!

The sharks and ray tour is it on a boat or beach. If it is on a boat does it have a restroom?
Written April 14, 2019
The one we went on was on a small speedboat with no bathroom. There was no freshwater shower. You couldn't even move. It was difficult getting on and off the boat in a current up a small ladder. I saw a video of people who booked it outside of carnival and not through Exotic tours and the boat was much nicer. The first time we took this excursion through princess cruises the boat was a double decker catamaran with a full bathroom and a staircase that went down into the water that made it really easy to get on and off. If Carnival won't tell you the tour company, or if it is Exotic tours I wouldn't recommend you book because their boat was small, uncomfortable and the tour was badly run. I hope you have a terrific time . The reef and shark Ray alley itself as well as Caye Caulker is awesome.

Hi! We are coming to Belize, via Carnival Cruises, in 2 weeks. The whole family wants to snorkel, and enjoy the beach...I have (2) 8 year olds, a 10 year old, a 15 year old, and 17 year old. How much is it per adult, and child? And what is the age limit, on the childrens ticket?
Also, I was wondering how long the excursion is, and exactly what it entails. Thank you in advance! My family is so excited to see your beautiful country!!!

Did you pre-book your golf cart, or did you rent it at the airport in SP? May I ask how much you paid?
Thanks!
Written April 25, 2016
We didn't pre-book. Once we arrived in SP we walked a block or so from the airport to Moncho's Rent-A-Cart and rented one there. I believe we paid $50 - $60 (US) for 4 hours.

Would this tour be appropriate for a 4-year-old and a 12-year old? They both like the beaches & we're looking for a tour where they can go to a calm, clean beach. We'll be there while on a cruise in March.

This company offers a variety of tours. My 79 yr. Old Mother and I went to Altun Hu Mayan ruins. The tour was great. 'Jungle' Joe was very informative and was able to answer questions

On average, how many people are snorkeling during the guided tour? After that is over, can we snorkel on our own? We have our own equipment. I suppose if there are many cruise ships in Belize City, the island and reef will be crowded with tours? Thank You.
Written January 29, 2016
There were around 45 (?) people on the boat that took us from Belize City out to the snorkeling area.
After a short stop at the small island (to change, use the restroom if necessary), some people stayed to just have beach time and the rest of us, I think there were maybe 35 people, motored out a short distance to the reef for our snorkeling tour.
We didn't see any other groups in our area while we were on our tour.
When we returned to the small island after the tour (where there was food, a changing area, bathrooms and sandy beaches)
there was time and opportunity to snorkel by wading out.
