Here are the things that went well. 1. Good communication via email. 2. Price is fair, but doesn't include tips 3. didn't see much wildlife but that is more seasonable. 4. good boat trip out. Here are things that need improvement. 1. It is a 90 minute car ride and our driver squeezed in an extra rider that made the back seat of 3 very uncomfortable and bottoms his shocks and my back on several occasions. 2. The owner met us at the site, asked what hotel we were from then asked for money that then left. No warm greeting, just hey you owe me money. I would have expected more from a family run operation. 3. it is tour guide specific and our guide Javier, while knowledgable, was just flat and monotone. we tried to engage him but you have to ask alot of questions to get good information. 4. They didnt' get lunch to us on the boat. It was about 1:20 when we were finally told that they didn't get the food delivered to the boat on time and we would have to wait until we returned to the dock. More on this later. 5. Because it was late and we were hungry, Javier drove the boat like a madman to get us back to eat and it was not a pleasant ride home, just too much wind in your face and too loud to be able to talk to one another. 6. When we left Javier didn't even say good bye. We returned to the basic meal of chicken, beans/rice/ fried plantains. It is not that hard to find that food anywhere. But they should have told us that up front or had a back up plan like a granola bar to two. Also they should bring 2 waters per person. given the hiccup with the food I would have expected one of the owners to me us upon our return to apologize for the food mix up. He was lucky we were a young fit group, but if there was an older population that would have needed food after a 120 minute tour he would have had an issues on his hand. The price was fair, but the execution was poor and an apology about the food should have been in order. I wish we had a different guide and they executed better. BTW, the ruins were really really cool.

I booked a regular tour To Lamanai for my last day in Belize. It was supposed to be one of the highlights of my trip and was instead a huge disappointment. They were very prompt to reply when I asked for information and booking. However, on the day of the tour, I was paired with three people from a cruise who where on a very tight schedule. The whole experience was more of a race than a tour . First, by car, then by boat then at the site itself. We got to Lamanai at 10h30am and the guide announced that we were going to have lunch... at 10h30. Ok why not. Then when we finished eating, she told us that we had less than one hour to visit Lamani because we had to be back on the boat at noon. When I asked why and how it Is possible to visit the whole site (Which is quite big) in less than an hour (especially with an elderly lady in the group) she explained that it was because of our tight schedule and that we would only visit three temples. She was then really sorry to hear that I wasn’t from the cruise ship, confirmed it wasn’t normal and tried her best to put me in an other group or contact the manager in vain. I then had to run everywhere to see as much as possiblement the site with very little information on each temple. I didn’t have time to enjoy the place nor to visit the museum. All other groups seemed to be enjoying their day at a normal pace with loads of information from their guides. Concerning the boat ride, i can let you imagine what wildlife you can spot (by yourself) at full speed. NONE. I complained to the driver who was also sorry and confessed I shouldn’t have been paired with people from a cruise. He suggested I contact the manager to have a free ride to the airport the next morning. I wrote to the manager, who replied one day later, when I was gone. How convenient! Needless to say it was my worst experience in Belize and I highly recommend choosing another tour. Even with big groups. I left Belize on a very bad note because of you.

The river and ruins were awesome. Ian our guide was superb. Elio arranged everything including hotel pickup, absolutely flawless and GREAT value. This was a superb family run business. We were so impressed we used them the next day for doing the cave tours. Again awesome! They got us there before the cruise ship crowds arrived.

Loved this tour and our guides! Amazing experience! Weather was perfect, no rain, no bugs and the boat ride was beautiful too! We even got to see some howler monkeys on our way back to the boat!

We enjoyed everything about this tour. From the informative van ride to the boat launch, to the river boat ride where we saw so many birds, iguanas, and turtles, to the arrival and tour through Lamanai, to the delicious lunch. Our tour guides were great. We had a 5 year old with us and he was able to climb two of the temples with us. We went on a Saturday and it wasn’t too busy there. The boat ride back, we spotted many crocodiles. All in all, definitely a highlight of our trip to Belize.
