Luis was truly an amazing guide. His communication before the trip was excellent and was extremely responsive. He tailored the activities to exactly what we wanted for my family and my children. He transported us in a like new van and was extremely knowledgeable about the area and activities. The cave tour was absolutely amazing and he extended the tour to allow us to actually walk around the caves, something none of the other tours included. We visited Belize on a cruise so he was very sure to make sure we arrived back at the ship in plenty of time. Our cave tour was probably the highlight of our entire cruise and would recommend Luis to anyone visiting Belize city by cruise or by air.

Luis & Eric picked us up promptly at the dock as scheduled. Little did we know it was private just the two of us. Off we went for an hour ride and conversation across Belize. Arrived at Nohoch Che’en Archaeological Reserve. Restrooms, changing rooms with showers (needed after tour). Got fitted up with life vests, lighted helmets and really nice tubes. Luis’s assistant carried our tubes to the river which was much appreciated by us 70 year olds. The trek was through the jungle and a few crossing of fairly shallow river where we had fun skipping stones. The cave tubing was awesome. Eric showed us so much and took great care of us. The lunch provided after was delicious in a quaint roadside place. Luis and company was very conscientious of ships time and our need to return in a timely manner. Looking forward to visit Belize again and take another tour by Luis, possibly Altun Ha.

Luis is a wonderful guide. We had several wish list items prior to coming to Belize for the first time. He managed to make it all happen. We drove to Tikal from San Ignacio and spent the day with Luis and Mike, a guide who is passionate about Guatemalan culture and Tikal. He has a wealth of knowledge and we left with a better understanding of the Mayan culture. Tikal is a must see. We had a traditional lunch of stewed chicken with rice and beans that was very good as well. If you come to Belize, Luis is the guide to choose.

Wow, what a great day on this tour. Now I understand why there are so many good reviews! The whole thing was smooth and easy from the beginning to the end -- the booking, getting my questions answered, meeting up with Luis, the trip itself, returning to the ship on time. Luis knows everyone around the area and is very well connected. So we got a great parking spot at the site, we had NO line for the zip line (a big line had formed by the time we were done), we had high quality inner tubes that were brought in for us, and Luis was constantly giving us all kinds of interesting information about the area, and answering all of our questions. Such a delightful day! I am really glad I booked with them to get a more local experience than I would have gotten booking with the ship. Thank you Luis and your team for giving us such a memorable experience!

My fiancé and I did the cave tubing tour with Luis. Everything was perfect and we had a great experience with transportation, tubing & lunch. Luis is very friendly and knowledgeable. There was a little bit of a walk with the tubes to get to the river but it wasn't bad at all. When we were finished he took us back to our Airbnb so we could gather our luggage and he took us a new hotel that we decided to stay at. I would highly recommend!

We were a group of 16 from the cruise ship and had about 7 hours in Belize. We wanted to "see it all" and Luis and Gerson did an outstanding job making sure we saw as much as possible in those 7 hours. The meeting place was just outside the port and easy to get to. Luis had a sign with our name on it and after a quick meeting off we went to the caves. Luis drove the van and Gerson gave a great history of the country and talked about the all the sites along the way. It took about an hour to reach the caves so there was time to ask questions and hear about ancient Mayan civilizations.
The drop off site had clean restrooms, some little shopping booths and a place to purchase or rent water socks. Because we had a big group, Luis made arrangements to have the tubes delivered to the entrance of the river so we didn't have to carry them. There was a short walk to the entrance to the river where we saw beautiful parrots and interesting plants and trees.
Once in the river, Luis and Gerson had to work especially hard getting us down the "lazy river". We were near the end of the season and the river was low. The caves were interesting and we saw bats!
Once we reached the end of the float, we were taken back to the restrooms to change and then treated to a wonderful lunch of chicken with rice, soda and water.
After the brief lunch break we were off to Altun Ha! We had another hour drive with more interesting facts about Belize. We went through several small towns and communities and saw alot of the country!
When we reached the ruins we hiked up a very steep set of stairs to get a great view of all the different ruins on the site. Gerson gave another very informative talk regarding the Mayans and the possible uses of each of the buildings. It was very interesting. There was a little time for us to wander around the site and take pictures. It was really hot the day we were there and Luis and Gerson made sure to keep us supplied with water.
Onthe way back to the cruise port we were treated to some pretty yummy rum punch. It was very refreshing!
We had a wonderful day in Belize with Luis and Gerson. They made sure we got to see as much of the city, country, caves and ruins that you could see in 7 hours.
I would highly recommend Belize Paradise Tours with Luis and Gerson!

My husband and I are on our honeymoon and wanted to do outdoor things. Luis took us cave tubing and it was amazing!!! He was very knowledgeable, personable, and funny!!! We will be using Luis again when we come back next year with my mom!!!

My husband and I were in Belize for the day while on a Princess Cruise. I researched in advance and came across Luis Portillo. I set up cave tubing and zip lining for our day there with him and I am glad I did! My husband was unfortunately unable to come due to a severe sunburn he got the day before. When I disembarked I was met at the port by Luis and the guide I spent the day with. I ended up having a private tour! I was driven to the caves in the comfort of an air conditioned van and offered a wonderful chilled water for the drive. I loved the zip lining, cave tubing and lunch! Thank you, for a wonderful time! I would highly recommend using Luis Portillo while in Belize!

Luis was a fantastic guide. He was timely, personal able, friendly, and trust worthy. He provided lots of history of Belize and Belize City. He command of the three local languages was impressive and enjoyable as he conversed with the other locals. We arrived at the Zip lining before all the cruse ship tours and he used his charm to get us two extra runs. The guys at Howling Hills Zip Lining we're awesome, friendly, and know their jobs very well. I highly recommend Luis as guide. Thanks again for the tour!

We will be arriving on the Liberty of the Seas Royal Caribbean on 3/19/2020 . Will you be picking up from the Port and be back in time for us to board our ship? Also Is this the tubing adventure that will take us somewhere to eat/shop also? :)

We will definitely pick you guys up from the cruise port bring you to cave tubing site, do the tour and lunch after. Shopping can be done here at the site where they are some gift shops and if not can arrange to stop some where to have you do some shopping before heading back to the cruise port.
We will have plenty of time to do cave tubing and do some shopping and still have enough time before your last tender.

I tried to put myself and 3 kids for the cave tubing tour. My kids are 17(3 weeks from 18) and twins who are 15 (almost 16). it wouldn't allow me to put 1 adult 3 kids, can I put the 17 year old as an adult?

My wife an I are booked for the zip line and cave tubing adventure. However, I am concerned about how much walking and rough/ slippery terrain is involved as I have ankle stability issues. I am fine with stairs, but unstable ground and uneven terrain for long distances could be a problem. What and how much of this do these tours have?

Yes, it is quite a walk. Prob 30 minutes. You cross the river 3 times getting to starting point and water was lil Swift. (There is a rope to hold on to) Other people had to carry their own tubes, but this Tour does that for you. Was an awesome experience. Just take it slow and you should be fine.

My wife and grandkids are on Norwegian cruise line and will be docking at Harvest Caye island on March 29. I do not see your tour as part of the shore excursions. If it is not, is there anyway for us to be able to do your tour from the Norwegian's Harvest Caye island?

Luis here from cave tubing paradise tours, thank you for inquiring our cave tubing tour.
The reason for you not seeing any tours for harvest Caye is because it's located on the southern part of Belize. It's an island that Norwegian bought and so far they are not offering tours to mainland Belize nor have water taxis/ferries to move back and forth from there private island.
If they did have water taxis/ferries to go to mainland it would be too far to do cave tubing tour. Just the driving itself would be about 2.5 hours just to get there.
If you haven't book your cruise and wants to do cave tubing consider cruising with royal Caribbean, princess cruise or carnival cruise. Those ships still stops in Belize city which is more close to the cave tubing site.
Any other question concerning cave tubing or anything else please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you for Inquiring our cave tubing tour. The cave tubing tour consist of a 1 hour drive to the site and 1 hour back to the city or or your location that you will be staying or coming in. At the site the cave tubing tour also consist of a 40 mins walk through the jungle passing through some dry caves. At the entrance of the caves I will hook you folks together so you don't have to paddle. We will tube in the caves for about 45 mins and about 15 out on the open river then back to where we have started.
The price is $65 Usd p/p, any other question please you can always email us and we will definitely help you to book your tour.

Hello, the cave tubing portion itself takes approximately 45 mins in the caves and 15 mins of open river tubing. Also the cave tubing does consist of a 30 to 40 mins though the jungle before we do the actual cave tubing.
The zip line takes approximately 45 mins to 1 hour, it consist of 6 zip runs and 9 platforms. The last 2 runs is across the river and back. The highest is 200 ft and the longest is approximately 900 to 1000 ft long.

You don't need to know how to swim for the cave tubing tour, we do provide life jackets for everyone. The height for the zip line is approximately 750 feet in height.
