Family group enjoyed a nice day in the sun. Kids loved the amenities and driver was honest and stayed with us.
Easily returned to Carnival Vista.

Kukumba Beach
Mar 2020
Our original excursion to cave kayak was cancelled due to the high water in the river. We ended up finding Gregory, a taxi driver, and he took us to Kukumba Beach. Along the way, Gregory gave us a tour of Belize City. We arranged for Gregory to come back and get us after 4 hours. We were the first visitors that day, which made us skeptical at first, but by the time we left, the beach was crowded. Our 13 year old son loved the water slide! We also had a nice lunch in the restaurant. Recommend this activity for young families.

It was an awesome place to be, we had so much fun, I wish I did not have to go back so soon to the ship. We love Cucumber beach.

Friendly staff; loads of fun on the slide and water toys. Shawn looked after us very well. Definitely worth the drive.

Not as advertised but it could have been worse!
Dec 2019
This is not a beach! It is a strange manmade water hole with inflatables, a dodgy rope swing and a big slide. We only came here because our other trip fell through at the last minute. It was relatively cheap so we made it a reasonable day out despite the relatively depressing setting. The water is a weird colour and I hate to think about what lurks at the bottom! There is a DJ playing a range of old pop music very loudly along with a restaurant and some dated museum style attractions. The wifi didn't work. It could have been worse but it could have been a whole lot better.

Stagnant water man made lagoon
Dec 2019 • Couples
Man made. Water is stagnant and was afraid to stick my foot into it. We were told it’s a beautiful beach and planned on staying 6 hours and enjoy our day.

We left after 15 minutes. All I can say is something is ‘off’ with this shindig.

Amazing place for kids
Aug 2019 • Family
My family and I made this stop when our cruise ship docked. Yes, it’s a man made hole, but I liked it. The restaurant on site has AMAZING food! For me, this made the trip worth it. I could do without the women who set up shop trying to get people get their hair braided or nails done. Especially since their hair didn’t look good. What could they possibly offer? But I still give this place a 4.

Handmaid water hole basically!

The children will like it because it's more of a pool than anything. Good music and relaxing area. The slides need to be resurface cause they cut you a little.

Belize City Cucumber Beach

I loved this place ! It was amazing the area was clean and can tell they care about their environment. Very nice place I would love to come here again! Great view from the pier that allowed you to walk out to a helicopter landing pad ! The amenities were amazing I loved the slide and all the water floats they had, just wish it was easier to get on some of them.
One thing that stood out more than anything was the service the bartenders provided was amazing.
I first came to just try the famous belkin beer and wow it was amazing ! Then I started drinking some fresh coconut with rum and it was the best drink I have ever had. Refreshing and delicious I definitely over indulged!
Big shout outs to the bartenders Leona and Nandi! These girls know how to keep you company and give you a great time ! They definitely deserve a raise for their hospitality! Would visit just to see them again ! Fantastic job 10/10 love belize!

Not what we expected
Apr 2019 • Couples
My wife and I left a cruise ship and at port caught a taxi cab. We asked to be brought to the beach. He ended up taking us to Kukumba beach.

It cost us literally $40 for the cab back and forth and $20 for entrance fees (so, we're $60 into this trip by the time we walk in. (All outrageous.)

The place is a man-made seawater pond with sand around it. There are a number of floating attractions in the pond, so I suppose if you have kids, they might enjoy it. However, after spending time at some world class beaches in the Caribean, my wife and I were not happy.

I was quite blunt with the cab driver about not wanting to be brought to a place just because he got a commission for bringing us there, and then he did just that.

If I had to do it all over again, I would simply stay on the ship rather than spend any time in Old Belize. I would especially avoid Kukumba beach.

Maybe if it was free or cheap to enter, and the cabbie didn't overcharge us, we would have enjoyed the relatively inexpensive drinks and chaulked the whole thing up to experience. However, when you look at the whole "picture", it wasn't even remotely worth the money or the effort.

The cruise ship pools and waite staff would have shown us a much better time.
