What an amazing Excursion.
The crew took us out to the reef to snorkel they made sure everybody was safe they put us in the appropriate groups.
Since I had never snorkeled before and not a strong swimmer they made sure guide stayed with me....More
The spot we went to snorkel, off the island, was very choppy and we didn't see as many fish/coral as we have other places. It could've just been the day.
The manmade island is pretty, but the swimming and snorkeling on the island is not...More
We got off the ship and the men who were on board of starfish island were amazing. They absolutely made out trip. When we went snorkeling they helped my husband and I see new creatures up close. They were also very patient when my mask...More
This is my 9th cruise and I have done many excursions in the past. This is by far the worst! We were stuck on this "beach" with no way of returning back to the ship for 4 hours. The water is murky and dirty feeling....More
We had a stop here as part of our cruise snorkeling excursion. It is a manmade island so the beach area is not that great. There are bathrooms, plenty of beach chairs, sand volleyball, a restaurant and a very small souvenir shop. It was OK...More
We went with our family and my In laws. Everyone loved it! They had a great play area for small kids, a starfish and conch pool, chairs galore and a small beach area. We rented a kayak for $10 for 30 minutes. The water was...More
This little island looks like it's out of a movie. Hardly out of the ocean at all, but with bar, restaurant and bathrooms, it's an ideal spot to spent a few hours. One great Elvis impersonator as well! Don't miss it if you have a...More
We booked this tour through Royal Caribbean. We were taken from the ship by a boat to the island.
The views were great, water clear, plenty of chairs, few hammocks, sand had many small shells so it hurt to walk barefoot, cash bar was available,...More
Shore excursion from Liberty of the Seas. I wish I would have read the reviews before we booked this excursion. Man made island with very rough beach. Lots of tiny broken shells. The food was ok but the bath rooms were located next to the...More

Don't go hungry. The food that was part of the package wasn't all that good. We waited for an hour at the bar so we could order burgers, and ended up getting on the boat before they were ever willing to take our order... More

I visted in June 2009 and would not go at all - If I knew what I know now! It was the pits! There was not enough deck chairs or chairs for all the visitors. The beach was less sand and more crushed sand. To call this place a resort is like stretching the truth. It is an island in the middle of the Caribbean Sea.
Snorkeling: Caye Caulker vs. Hol Chan (1 Replies)
Hi! I'll be visiting Belize for a day on a cruise ship in a couple weeks. I've spent a couple weeks in Belize before and snorkeled Shark Ray Alley and the Coral Gardens at Caye Caulker. The reef was beautiful, so we want to do some more snorkeling. Our options for the day seem to be either going back to Caye Caulker, going to Hol Chan, or unspecified "reef" snorkeling on the way to Bannister island. The Hol Chan trip is much more expensive than the others. So, my question is whether or not...More

I have always always always wanted to come to Belize. We are coming on a cruise end of March and will be there for one day 8am -5pm...Which means last tender will be around 3pm. I have hubby and two kids 13 and 11. Friend of mine has been there and said GET OUT OF BELIZE CITY and go to a CAYE! She said either Caye Caulker or Ambergize Caye....Is there enough time? What about BANNISTER ISLAND? I have done some reading on that it sounds like fun. Help! What we do here for the day will help us...More

Hello Beachnut: To get to Caye Caulker, once you exit the cruise terminal, turn left down North Front Street and walk down to the Water Taxi terminal. Its about a five - ten minute walk. The water taxi terminal is locateda at the foot of the swing bridge. Once there, take a water taxi out to Caye Caulker. The price is $15 US r/t and the commute time is one hour. If you depart on the 9:00 a.m. boat, you should be on Caye Caulker in time to take the half day shark/ray snorkel trip that...More
