We are two couples who booked a day fishing the river. While our fishing trip was a great day, the guide (young man named Jamal) was not very ambitious. We fished for hours and he never really did anything for us except net the two fish we caught. He never explained what we should do, didn't offer to change up any lures (used the same one all day) or work at all to try to make it more successful. He was certainly very pleasant but just not very proactive as far as being the "guide" for us. These people were great getting us from the ship to the marina and back on time, made us lunch and had plenty of water and soda onboard. The day was great because we did get to see lots of Belize wildlife along the way. We just felt a little jipped in the fishing aspect of it because of the guide.

The guys down there far exceeded just doing their job. Captain Richard is a rare jewel of a man and fisherman. His son Randy was a perfect guide. You could set your watch when he said he would pick us up at the hotel. Off to breakfast with Alicia. To say she was a good cook would be an insult to her. She was an excellent cook and greeted us each morning with a huge smile as we sit down to a stomach warming breakfast of perfect omelettes, waffles and bacon. I am a an old sailor and love my coffee. Her coffee was some of the best I have ever had, Out the back door and there was Richard waiting for us ready to go. The Belize River was muddy, high and rolling so we fished the Manatee River. It took a little getting use to the snook bite, Richard was patient in his instructions and after the first day, we had it down pretty good, Every stop we made, he put us on fish and I mean scrappy ones too. The snook is a great fighting fish and gave us all we wanted. The second day Richard decided to keep a nice one to eat. Everybody down there you ask said the snook was the best eating one of all the fish. Alicia fixed it on the grill with her special spices, beans and rice and a delicious cole slaw. I took one bite and my eyes rolled back in my head as I savored the best fish I have ever tasted. Along with several bottles of the local Belikin beer. Dam good beer too. We enjoyed that to the max. Wish they would export it!!! The Biltmore Hotel, an excellent choice to put us up in. Richard's wife made our daily box lunch boxes and I guess she thought we were puny and need nourishment while out on the water. No way I could eat the whole thing. We tipped her handsomely for those. Our day off, we decided to charter a local service to fly over the Blue Hole and invited Richard and Randy to go along. I know Richard has been to the Hole before, but never in an airplane. The plane Captain knew what to do and gave us several low passes around the Hole. Richard and Randy were very appreciative of being ask to come along.
We were a little sad to leave such a friendly place but Richard and Randy gave us memories to last a life time. I hope my health holds out in the near future as we definitely want to go back again.

Fishing guide Richard was really great.He loved to fish and worked hard for us.John at Action Belize made pick up and Hotel arrangements Everything was done very well We caught Alot of Snook and ate them at Hotel We also went zip lining and cave tubing on our last day Slots of fun

We were extremely disappointed with our fishing excursion with Action Belize. My husband had spoken to you John prior via phone and said he specifically wanted to fly fish the ocean flats of Belize for bonefish. This has been a long time dream of his to catch bonefish in Belize and it was the only reason we chose the Carnival Glory itineray for its stop in Belize. When we arrived at the marina our guides (who were very nice) were not prepared for fly fishing the ocean flats. They were only prepared for fishing the river. Needless to say my husband was beside himself. We tried to make the best of it given that we fish for snook all the time here in the rivers of Miami and Everglades. To make matters worse, we spent hours on the river fishing with our guides and only hooked one snook. In our opinion, due to the fact that the tackle and quality of equipment was severly lacking. Our guides felt so sorry for us that late in the day they actually took us to the ocean to see the flats. You can imagine our frustration in seeing the beautiful flats with others fly fishing for bonefish knowing it should have been us. We will likely never travel to Belize again to check this off the buckelist and can't believe we came so ridiculously close. Booking with Action Belize was a huge mistake!!!!

Action Belize US had a communication error in this reservation to Belize office. The guest was definitely disappointed as was Action Belize corporate. After guest returned to states, the error was discussed and verified legitimate. We admitted we screwed up on this one, and promptly refunded the TOTAL 100% price paid. It should be noted that this was done prior to any knowledge the guest had filed a negative comment on Trip Advisor. In other words, Action Belize corporate did not refund because of the negative post, but because we knew we messed up on this one and wanted to make it right. Basically, the guests received a free trip out snook fishing for the day. Understandably they are still disappointed, but it was totally free. OK, so we're not perfect - but we do strive for excellence and take pride in our 35 operating in Belize. We hope this guest will file another posting verifying that we did indeed correct this error. Should Trip Advisor have any doubt, we will furnish them with a copy of the cancelled check. Action Belize Corporate

Fished 2 days, was good one day and okay the next, guide (Richard Young) was very nice man who knew the water and loved to fish. Disappointment was in the outfitter (John) who booked the trip; we originally bought a package thru CCC at a benefit auction for 2 day,3 night trip for 3 to Belize . Package was to include fishing 2 days, 1 room at the Biltmore, Belize City (turned out is a Best Western), land transportation from and to airport. We decided to add a room for our 21 year old son, no rooms available at Biltmore, so we "upgraded" to the Raddison. We extended our stay on our own and booked the rest of the week in southern portion of Belize (Homanassi Resort in Hopkins-which was great). Upon checking out of the Raddison, I inquired about possibly needing a room for the night upon our return to Belize City later that week, was told that I could get room for same rate and given a quote. Turns out, our upgrade charge equaled that of the entire bill at Raddison with no credit for Biltmore. Complained and was told that I got better rate off the street than they do as regular customers and therefore there was no credit. No ground transportation at either end, did manage to get refunded for that but spent a long time waiting for shuttles that never showed. Both hotels were pretty much dumps. and Belize City is a very poor and dangerous place for tourists,Do not reccomend this trip to anyone with family or anyone looking for resort type atmosphere-much better to go out to Cays or go south of the city. Lesson learned, beware of auction vacation deals!

The guest purchased a trip through a benefit for the non-profit Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) of Florida, with whom Action Belize has been long time associated. Our package trips and this trip are lodged at our partner hotel - The Belize Biltmore. When guests saw it was a Best Western, they opted for another hotel - The Radisson. They also added another room to the benefit package for their son who had joined them on the trip. Guest doesn't have a problem with the fishing, but rather the cost they had incurred on the hotel change they requested. These CCA benefit trips are a fund raisers where Action Belize staff and Biltmore Hotel participate in donating services. The Radisson, however, does not participate in any donation which resulted in the guest feeling they didn't get proper hotel credit when opting out of the Biltmore reservation. Please note on this promo trip, if you change the accommodation to a non-participating hotel, you will have to pay the appropriate increase in costs. We hope our guests will continue their support of this great cause. Everyone in the Action Belize camp gives so that most moneys paid to the CCA stay with them on this promotion. Also note that the Belize Biltmore is a very nice hotel. Our fishing guests returning year after year, just wouldn't want to stay anywhere else.

GREAT day on the water. Richards Action Belize came recommended from a guise on Placentia a friend fishes with. Total knowledge, and exceeded expectations for a 3/4 day trip. Conditions were good but not ideal after 2 days of high winds. Asked to target tarpon, and we spent 3/4 of day casting to sighted and rolling fish on flat, and channels. Many 20-60 lb. poon takes, jumped, with none landed, but that's fishing. Partner , new to this spin fished plugs, myself fly only. Highly recommend and already wanting to return for a week fishing.

John runs a great operation! Claude was our guide for both days we fished and he was really fun and helpful. We will be back! Really good food on the trip as well!

Great fishing trip with friends and family. Caught big snapper, snook and jack. Can’t thank the guides enough for all their expertise and help with our less experienced members. Thanks also to Sir John and Mackenzie for setting this up. What an adventure!!

Such a memorable tour of the waterways and fishing holes all around Belize. Great fishing guides and great accommodations at the Biltmore. We will definitely be going back!

Wonderful, friendly tour guides and staff at the Biltmore hotel! The fishing guides are so friendly and can spot fish a mile away! Such a fun, wonderful trip and can't wait to go back!
