We used the water taxi to get from Belize City to Caye Caulker. They were very efficient. The guys at the front take your bag and give you a bag ticket to hand in once you arrive.
You need your ID to buy a ticket. We paid with card. The boat left on time.
The only negatives was the guy that I gave my bag ticket to was rude.
Unfortunately they weren’t running a service from Caye Caulker to Chetumal at the moment. I’m not sure if they will once high season picks up.

Caye Caulker Island is an amasing low key simple place to visit. If your looking for a jump back in time this is your place to visit. The island itself is not very large, no vehicles, and with only foot traffic or bicycles, it can be walked and explored in just a matter of couple hours. But you will find some amazing people and shops to explore. The sea water circuling the island is very clear with some amazing views!

This was down the street from our hotel and we decided to take the trip to Caye Caulker for the day.The staff is friendly and helpful.... however note: the water taxi only takes cash (Belize and US dollars) , Visa, and Mastercard.... no Amex. The trip was fun and all aboard were very friendly. Cost round trip per person to Caye Caulker was $25 US. if you use the restrooms before boarding there is a $1 US charge to do so... just a warning ;)

Our shuttle recommended this one (Belize Express) as the more reliable company. Everything went easily. Nice ride on a warm day.
Note: I paid US$11 r/t at the dock where it's US$28 on-line. Being a Thursday in low season, I think I was pretty safe (vs being sold out at the dock). I can't speak to high season. Also, the on-line didn't seem to allow for returning a different day -- no problem buying at the dock.

Two main water taxi's that we found, this one and the water express taxi. This one is much cheaper and full of locals. We had no issue buying tickets, it was on-time and arrived as expected and was clean and no issues. I would use this one again.

The day we went was a little rough and not all the seats have cushions, so it was a bit hard on the spine that day/

The water taxi was comfortable, safe and on schedule all of the time. Try to get the top deck ... great scenery.

We stayed in Caye Caulker and San Pedro while in Belize. This water taxi service made it easy to forfeit one island to the next. It is cheap and reliable. Bigger better boat. They took good care of our luggage as well. This was a great choice.

The water taxi is an affordable way to visit Caye Calker. A quiet island with great beaches, quiet restaurants, and dive/snorkel shops.

This boat ride to Caye Caulker, Balize to and from the mainland, Balize City, Balize is both comfortable and VERY scenic.
We sat on the upper deck and enjoyed a beautiful ride in the sun.

Which water taxi company is closest to the cruise port?
Written December 8, 2017
Both are located side by side near the tourist village which is also at the harbor where the ship's tender drops you off. They have a slight difference in schedule so be sure to choose the one that meets the schedule of your tender. The taxi was $18 round trip per person to Caye Caulker.

Do you know what time the earliest taxi leaves?
Our flight leaves at 11am? And wondering if we have to leave Caye Caulker the day before?
