This was our first excursion from our Central America cruise. Not too far from the port and an interesting drive through Belize city and then through pretty countryside. Altun Ha was our first experience of Mayan history and architecture (there is plenty in central America)...More

Shortly after arriving in San Pedro, Ambergris Caye, Belize, C.A. we were searching for a tour company and ran into a very friendly gentleman, named Jorge, in front of The Mundo Maya Jungle Tour company. Jorge designed a tailor-made tour of Belize City and Altun...More

We recently visited this place with our three teenage children and two grandmas. Leandra did a good job of explaining the gist of the location. We climbed the pyramids and took the ten minute walk to the pond. Overall a great visit.

We were driving on our way from Orange Walk to the Belize Zoo for a couple of nights, and happened to pass a sign for Altun Ha on our way. I hadn't scheduled this site into our trip itinerary because I didn't think that we...More

I try to do the mayan ruins at any port available. I am glad I picked this one because you are still allowed to climb these. Beautiful and expansive area.

We took a tour and it was awesome. Our tour guide was very informative and it was great to get a look into the past with the knowledge he shared. I do suggest hiring a guide to tell you about everything, as there isn't a...More

This was a sight to see. Keep in mind, it is pretty far out of the way, you will need transportation. If you are planning anything else in the day, especially on a cruise excursion, you will be rushed if you are doing the cave...More

I took the tour with the cruise line. You can Google tour guides in Belize and select from there. I now live in Belmopan, Belize. If you can't find what you want, let me know and I will make some contacts.

It's very safe. Tour companies are best. There really are no crowds since the area is so large.
