We had an amazing adventure snorkeling the Hol Chan reserve off Caye Caulker. It was my very 1st snorkeling tour. Our guides Jose and Morgan were incredible! Very patient and informative. Unfortunately the water was a bit rough that day (high winds), so the boat ride out there was rough. They took us to feed the sharks and to swim with the turtles as well, but it was too rough for us to jump in. Morgan kindly jumped in and made sure we all received photos and video from the stops - so very kind of him considering the conditions. We stopped on the back side of the island and fed the Tarpins & Friggit birds. "Nigel" the pelican joined us and received a light snak and lift back to the dock on our motor casing. We all received our photos and videos from the go pro as well. I can't say enough good things about Belize! Such an incredible; amazing; adventurous; friendly and welcoming place to visit.

We had a wonderful time. It was my first time snorkeling and the 2 guides, Omar and Jien were very helpful and knowledgable. We were able to view many forms of marine life up close. Our guide took pictures of all the species we encountered, then upon our return the owner, Rico, down loaded all the pictures and videos to our iphones. Memories of our trip to take home and treasure. It was a fabulous half day tour. Worth every dollar spent. Co- owner Javier, Supplied us with masks, Snorkles ,fins, and life jackets. We had a tray of light fruit to eat when we returned to the boat. Great value. If we ever come to the island again, i will definately repeat this experience.

Swimming with sharks and rays?!?! So cool. We did the half-day trip with Jose. The coral was beautiful and we loved the colorful fish. We went for the snorkeling, but feeding the tarpons and frigatebirds, and feeding us fresh pineapple was a fun added bonus. I enjoyed that Jose led us through the first dive and made sure we were comfortable, and then let us explore on our own for the second two dives, and we never felt rushed.
We were picked up right from the dock of the place we were staying and then when we walked to the office to pay, the person working in the office gave us an excellent recommendation for where to eat for lunch.

Booked a full day snorkel trip with a 10:30am pick up from our dock. In multiple conversations with this company we were told it would be just the 4 of us. The boat finally arrives 30 minutes late and he has already picked up 6 additional passengers. Include our group of 4, that would make the boat 10 passengers and 2 crew. Not to mention only 7 snorkels. Not bad with the exception they had an 18” boat!

Even though we booked this experience 4 days in advanced for just a group of 4 only, the company decided all of our conversations and what they promise doesn’t matter at end of day.

In response to Wvuman. The FACTS: - The hotel MANAGER contacted us and booked a tour for 4 people (we work with a handful of hotels); full day tour for the 12th of March 2022; Pickup at hotel dock. We were not told that it was a PRIVATE tour for FOUR(4) people. We (Anwar Tours) were NEVER in contact with Wvuman. - Pickup time (10:30am) was on TIME. We had FOUR(4) people as we were not told it was a PRIVATE tour. This would have made the group EIGHT(8) with TWO(2) additional guides. B.T.B (Belize Tourist Board) Law states that at any given time we should have EIGHT(8) Snorkelers to ONE(1) guide. We had TWO(2) guides. - Our boat A TWENTYFIVE(25) ft speed boat with a 115 HP outboard engine is licensed under the law of Belize Port Authority to carry SIXTEEN(16) passengers plus 2 crew members. We prefer to work with smaller groups as this makes the experience comfortable and personal. - We make sure that our guests have all necessary equipment for their tour and ALWAYS take extra equipment. - We were greeted with attitude not only to us but towards our guests as well because it was not a private tour and had 4 additional people on board. Food and entrance fees were already purchased (NON-REFUNDABLE) for FOUR(4) people; a LOST for us not for you. Again, we were NEVER in contact with Wvuman, it was scheduled and booked by your hotel manager who did not let us know it was a private tour. - Anwar Tours is a family owned business since 1993 and are fully dedicated to making sure that our guests are our number One(1) priority.

Having been on snorkelling tours with other companies on the cayes, this company stood out for the wrong reasons.

The guide was picking things up off the reef and telling people they could stand where it was shallow. This resulted in at least 1 if not more participants kicking/stepping on stingrays. When asked by a guest if they could touch the sharks, the guide told them yes. They fed the sharks/rays which is unethical and many countries have laws against this due to the harm it can cause.

The guide was really nice but I felt he was pandering to the instagram tourists and whatever they wanted was ok despite the consequences to nature.

We had a last-minute afternoon snorkelling tour guided by Ramon. It was excellent. Ramon was a careful guide who was very knowledgeable and packed in a huge amount of excitement into a short period, and without any compromise on safety. We felt, and we’re, in really good hands. Wonderful pictures too, (and such a rare treat these days not to be ripped off loads extra for them - they were included in the very reasonable tour fee). Can’t recommend highly enough.

We had a great day snorkeling and the tour guide was informative and polite, but we're concerned about the reef. Our tour guide allowed 2 people who were on the boat with us with no experience snorkeling to snorkel unsupervised, at coral gardens in a couple of feet of water. They were standing on the corals, kicking up sand and even got scratched by some.

There are 3 places in the local marine preserve where people are allowed to snorkel and it’s showing a lot of wear and tear. Partly because local’s fish the waters at night, and because tour operators and the island people themselves aren’t informing tourists of how fragile the reef is. Reef-safe sunblock cannot even be found on the island.

There is a lot of money pouring into this island because of its reefs, and it’s extremely short sighted that tour operators and islanders in general aren’t taking better care of it. They are sacrificing the long-term health of the reef and future income, not to mention vital habitat for short term financial needs.

Thank you for the kind words and for your concern about the reef. While on tour our guests are ALWAYS told before and during snorkeling to stay away from corals; not to touch and to only view its beauty. They are extremely sensitive and can easily be destroyed. With that said BELIZE has the largest living barrier reef for a reason as we take our wildlife ecosystem seriously unlike many places in this world. Yes, there is the occasional bad swimmer who accidentally kicks up some sand and not listen to our guides but we are always giving our best to protect the reserve. The Caye Caulker marine reserve is a PROTECTED AREA and fishing is NOT ALLOWED or tolerated. The reef is constantly surveilled by guides and employees who take a boat everyday to act as security for those trying to fish or destroy wildlife. If you had taken time out your day to talk to islanders who are committed to reef safety you would haven known that VimSKin located a few steps left of our office sells reef friendly sun screen.

My family had two great snorkel trips with Aidan and Andrew. Caye Caulker is obviously a beautiful area to snorkel and one of the reasons we took the trip, but more importantly, I felt totally comfortable taking my 4 and 6 year old children out on a boat for their first snorkel trips with Anwar tours. Aidan held my daughter's hand and looked after her while I took my son. You will be in excellent care with this company as well as see beautiful sea life.

We have been going to Caye Caulker for decades. This is the only place I will go snorkeling and the only ones that I recommend other people go with because there are a lot of shady businesses on the island. safety is very important to these folks. The owners are the original inhabitants of the island and the entire family will go out of their way to accommodate others. They also rent bicycles and do wonderful jungle tours. The business next door VIM SKIN is my wife’s favorite place on the island they make skin products made with all natural ingredients that are better than anything she has found in the states.

Out tour leader Omar was amazing!!!! He was very knowledgeable and very friendly. Out tour included 4 stops (sea horses, coral reef, sharks and sting rays and a guided portion. We were provided a face mask, snorkel and fins. During the tour we were given pineapples and oranges. Omar took pictures on a go pro and we were able to get those pictures at the end of the tour. Everything was well organized and ran smoothly!!
