I was really excited to try this out. I'm glad I did. It was really cool concept. i was anxious at first and was breathing too fast, but the instructor help me calm down and it was all good from there.

We did the snuba and the whole family loved it! My wife and I did scuba diving on our honeymoon and she did not like it. But this she really liked. For her it was better than snorkeling because she didn’t have to worry about her snorkel and I preferred it because I could stay on the bottom. The kids (both 16) loved it because breathing under water is awesome!

My fiance and I knew we wanted to snorkel during our trip to San Pedro, and ended up doing snuba instead! I have never snorkeled in my life, so starting with snuba was an interesting introduction to the water sport for sure. The instructor/guide was definitely concerned I wouldn't do well, I also confessed my limited swimming ability; however I got the hang of it less than 5 minutes in and everyone was pleasantly surprised. In short: it is a great learning curve and the guides are great!!

We booked the SNUBA excursion instead of snorkeling because of high winds and rough water. Due to the wind, we could not go to Hol Chan, but we were able to go to another site where we could drift a bit. I can't compare it to Hol Vahn, but the water was pretty clear and there was lots to see. If you aren't dive certified, SNUBA is the way to go. Captain Vladimir & our guide, Enrique, were great!
