- Amy MSan Pedro, Belize117 contributionsA chocolate craftsman tells the humble story of his luxurious productChris, the owner, delivers an inside into his craft from describing how he goes to the cacao farms and co-ops to select his raw product, to the attention to detail n production to get the highest quality finished product to his customers. The chocolate class was very informative about the entire process as well as presented well complete with hands on demonstrations and tastings. The class is about an hour or so, so if you are not taking the class allow yourself 30 minutes to shop. Where else can you take a class on a porch overlooking the Caribbean and finish with a mouthful of delicious chocolate? Even if you do not have time for the class, stop in and purchase a bar, a truffle, or even a delicious milkshake!Visited December 2020Written December 2, 2020
- Paris1221Virginia Beach, Virginia275 contributionsClass and shoppongMy daughter and I took the class and enjoyed all the history and samples. Chris did a great job beginning with his professional quality video about origins of the Belizian cocoa bean, then showed us step by step the process on his beautiful beach side patio . The best part was all of the sampling and the bag of cocoa nibs/sugar/cream mix perfect for coffee! Bought some extras bc it all was so tasty including coffee tea, coffee and bag of nibs.Visited April 2021Traveled with familyWritten April 8, 2021
- Kwahi J18 contributionsGreat chocolate for a higher-than-anticipated priceThe Belize Chocolate Company was a hit for our family. We thought the prices were a bit steep, but that may be the price you pay for a storefront on the beach. Our kids each got a six-piece sampler and my wife got a brownie. We'd recommend coming here as an alternative to desserts offered within restaurants in downtown San Pedro. We did not do the chocolate-making class.Visited December 2022Written January 1, 2023
- Bob PDenver, Colorado63 contributionsGreat Experience! This is a local chocolatier that not only provides great chocolate products but offers a 60 minute class. The class focuses on how beans are acquired, roasted and then processed to obtain the chocolate used in producing their products. Chris is a great instructor. The class allows you to taste product during the process. His delivery is well paced and he encourages questions and interaction. Jo is certified by the Escolar de Chocolate (Amaury Guichon). The treats in the case are reasonably priced and taste amazing! Register before hand to make sure you get a seat.Visited March 2023Written March 14, 2023
- L.Zhen11 contributionsAmazing Chocolate and Class! My brother and I took a chocolate class with Chris, and it was hands down the best bang for your buck experience in San Pedro! The class was only $25 BZD and lasted about an hour where Chris walked us through the process of making chocolate, let us try grinding up the chocolate ourselves, and then did a tasting not just of the finished product, but every step of the way. The chocolates at the store are superb in quality (and a little more expensive than I'm used to, but still cheaper than Godiva and Lindt and far superior). They made great souvenirs traveling well in the heat, and we tried some great truffles and pieces in the store. My favorite was the Mayan Temple.Visited January 2023Written February 3, 2023
- Santa SLas Vegas, Nevada89 contributionsBrownies! The shop is on the beach (by Blue Heaven Dive Shop). So, in between dives we stopped by to check it out. Wow, the chocolate is hand made using Mayan chocolate. The truffles are soooo good, and the brownies are amazing. Like, the best I ever had! We got brownies, chocolate chip cookies, and truffles to bring back to the dive shop to share. We went back a couple of times for more chocolate and coffee. YUM!Visited July 2021Written July 11, 2021
- Anna W4 contributionsAccommodating store, lovely chocolate! My wife and I had a lovely time in this store. The store had a lovely aroma, the staff were so relaxed but kind. They let us stay and use the facilities and Wi-Fi. We loved the chocolate strawberry milkshake, very reasonably priced and delicious! Great experience, would return again!Visited August 2022Traveled as a coupleWritten August 11, 2022
- GeneralShamuNew York City, New York1,057 contributionsWorth Every PennyFor any chocolate lovers, this is a must visit location while on the island. Once you try the delicious chocolates, good luck not wanting to come back a second time around. Ensure you immediately head to your hotel with whatever chocolates you do buy as you have a 20 - 30 minute window max before they melt significantly enough to impact the ultimate taste of it. We summarily returned to the hotel and put it in the fridge/cooler within the room. Parking available outside for golf carts and they take credit cards beyond 20 BZ$.Visited June 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten June 25, 2023

The bars are buy 3 get 1 free and there are many varieties, including vegan coconut milk chocolate. They also have body products, beautiful truffles and baked goods. We stopped on our way to the airport (they open at 8:30) and they were a little slow getting opened, but I'm not always at my desk exactly on time either!Visited March 2023Written April 9, 2023
- Gabrielle22 contributionsAuthentic Belize ChocolateDelicious chocolate on the island! It’s definitely a must stop if you are a chocolate lover. You can buy a box of chocolate from their display case, the dark chocolate cashew was delicious but they also have small bars with a ton of flavors and the price is great!Visited February 2023Traveled with friendsWritten February 12, 2023

Do yourself a favor and get some chocolate chip cookies! We bought a box of chocolates, chocolate chip cookies and a milkshake. We loved the cookies so much that we went to the chocolate co. On another island to get more of their cookies before we left the country

We take our chocolate seriously, and the bar chocolate and chocolate confections are both delicious! We also picked up a peace, love and chocolate t shirt which I thought was very clever. The bars come from cacao grown in southern Belize and are batch and date labeled. Their coffee and chocolate drinks were also refreshing, and we enjoyed resting in their air conditioned seating area that also had good Wi-Fi.

Fantastic class and great learning experience. Do not purchase online. Was annoyed to arrive and see sign out front that said $25 BZ when I paid $50USD before arrival online. Would be okay if you are offered a credit on merchandise but that wasn't the case. Definitely a must do but pay when you get here.

Fun little shop on the water. It was nice to enjoy a large unique selection of chocolate while inside with A/C. Too hot to take chocolate home but we did buy soap.

Enjoyable 1 hour "experience" with the owner who explains how chocolate is made from the growing and processing of the cacao beans to the chocolate bars we enjoy, as you sample each step. Nice family experience and break from diving adventures all week. Location is nearby lots of great restaurants as well!

First of all as if the chocolate wasn’t too expensive, they charged our card but said it was declined and then made us pay cash. We quickly went back to our hotel to check why our card was declined and wasn’t. This the scam! They basically charged us twice for the same thing. Don’t fall for this theft! The gal working there did it to other people in line as well and said it could be the machine. Run, don’t walk from this scam and crappy little store!

When is the Chocolate tour available?
Bliss@BCC
Belize
Hi, we do not currently offer a tour but do have a chocolate making class. This is conducted on the deck outside the shop and takes participants through the chocolate making process from the cacao farms in southern Belize to grinding and processing here on the island. It includes lots of tasting, samples and making milk and dark chocolate during the class.

It's actually a small shop, not a factory. They serve many chocolate items. Well worth a visit.

Very casual in general. Be comfortable and you'll be fine. If you check out their website if they have one, or their tripadvisor profile, you can get a feel from the photos. There are a few that you can dress up a bit if you want.
