good but be careful on some points....
Nov 2019
I took 2 times the boats, one from Belize city to San pedro and second one from San pedro to Chetumal.

The 1st one shuttle I had an issue with the prices, I did not pay attention and was invoiced more than the fees...when I understood afterwards, I came back to the local office and clear this problem after quite a long talk with the officer.....

The 2nd one, we lost 30 min due to some problems of coordination between the immigration and the staff at San Pedro, nothing rude but when then you know that you lose also 1H30 at the mexican border to clear your immigration form, you might be a little tired by all those procedures...

Otherwise the quality of the boats and the service of the onboard staff, nothing to comment, perfect.

Traveled to Chetumal Quintanaroo from San Pedro Ambergris Caye BELIZE. Nice comfortable boat ,took like 1.45mins.However if you are a Belizean be ready to pay $540 Mexican pesos Extra for entering Mexico.

dishonest

Water Jets International is dishonest. They sold me a bad ticket and despite three attempts to contact them, they have not fixed the problem. They still owe me money.

Great folks to ride with. They only operate every second day so check check out the other water taxi for days of travel.

It’s all about the experience
Feb 2018 • Friends
We traveled from Chetumal to SAN Pedro. It is the best means of transport to get to SAN Pedro and far cheaper than flying. The boat was over crowded and we sat on the floor of the boat. Beverages were handed around to guests. It’s not like a boat trip id experience here in Australia but it was quite an experience. Different country, different expectations. Another example... A few days prior to the boat trip in Mexico we booked a first class bus ticket from Cancun to Chetumal. When we got on the bus it was busy, hard to find a seat and had no air conditioning- very different to the first class we were familiar with back home. At the end of the day, it is all about the experience and your visit to SAN Pedro will be well worth the dodgy boat trip over.

great cheap way to travel

We used the water jets on the way home from San Pedro. The taxi was very easy to get to and easy to buy tickets. The boat took off right on schedule and it was a nice ride. They took care of all of our luggage so we didn't have to load anything ourselves. For 30 USD you can get a round trip ride from Belize City to the Cayes. Best 30 bucks spent.

Better than the Bus!
Sep 2018 • Couples
My girlfriend and I took this service from Chetumal to San Pedro and it was nothing more nor less than we expected. Staff where friendly and helpful and did the best they could with the resources that they had. The boat is small and there are no amenities; we where advised and aware of that before hand. We used the restrooms located at the terminal prior to departure and made proper preparation for a very bumpy trip. This service is way better than driving to Belize City on horrendous roads and then getting on a ferry from Belize City to San Pedro under the same water conditions. I would recommend this service to anyone who wants to end up in San Pedro departing from Mexico, I have flown a few times but tickets can be 400-600 on Tropic Air and the flight is still 90 mins without facilities on board the aircraft. You on holiday; complain less and enjoy more, have a great time in Belize.

Unpleasant experience on oversold small boats
Aug 2018 • Friends
The good.... (1) well, we made to San Pedro and back, so there's that. (2) their staff member Sammy was exceptionally helpful in dealing with Mexican immigration.

The bad... where to start...

(1) Don't fall for their pictures on the website. The boat we were on both times was small, overcrowded, and literally it felt like we were enclosed in the hold. Nothing remotely close to the pictures on the site. One person joked (in poor taste, but not totally inaccurate) that we now knew how the boat refugees felt. "Snacks and a movie" according to the website, lol, no. There was no safety lecture, and I had no clue whatsoever where the life jackets were (and I'm a poor swimmer, so I was looking). I really can't stress how small, crowded, and claustrophobic the boat was.

(2) We had a group of people I dubbed "the frat boys" who arrived with their cooler of liquor, and openly drank it on the trip. Twice we hit bumps which caused the contents of their red solo cups to go flying and literally soak another passenger in rum/coke. The frat boys thought this was funny. The rest of us, not so much so. The crew didn't care or say anything to them. Maybe don't let a bunch of rowdy 20 year old males board a small enclosed boat with a large cooler of booze? Because, you know, what could possibly go wrong?

(3) I attempted to book 7 round trip tickets online in advance, two weeks before departure. My credit card was charged, but I got no confirmation. Follow up emails were ignored. I phoned multiple times, finally got through, and was told "oh, your email confirmation number is coming this afternoon". Never came, and couldn't get through again afterwards. When I arrived in Chetumal, I had no written confirmation or reference number saying I had booked. It wasn't a pleasant feeling, though I did get on.

(4) On one of the trips, we ended up arriving two hours late as the company tried to sort through a seating mess. The trip went A -> B -> C, and they oversold seats from A to C so it ended up they couldn't accommodate people getting on at B. They ended up paying to fly people to an airport semi-near Chetumal and shuttling them back in to the city.

(5) A fist fight almost broke out in the line up to get on to the boat; there was no crew control, boarding just seemed like one big free for all.

TL;DR: Buyer beware. Use them if you have no choice. I'd personally not travel on them again even for free.

Yuck! Worst experience on public transportation.

The boat had no ventilation and the smell of gas made me sick. It felt so hot inside and no toilet. The ride was so choppy that You can not relax. Staff very unprofessional and did not mention that there wouldn’t be a bathroom available on boat. Horrible!
