With over 700 acres of pristine, conservation land and a wild animal park dedicated to education, Chehaw is a unique attraction for South Georgia. Being one of the only two accredited zoos in Georgia, aside from Zoo Atlanta, Chehaw continues to be devoted to the three areas it was founded on: conservation, preservation and education.

From the Wild Animal Park to the endless recreational opportunities, Chehaw has an activity for every visitor. We offer Mountain Bike Trails, an 18 hole disc golf course, a BMX track, a large Play Park, campgrounds, rental facilities, nature trails, a fully stocked catfish pond, summer camps, and MORE! Wonderful visit. We got a cold spell so the camp bathrooms were too cold and drafty to shower in but everything else was great. We had the place to ourselves. Sometimes at night, you hear the noises from the zoo animals. There are no grills at the campsite but some of the pavilions have them and if it rains too... More

I always go to this park with my grandchildren for their Native American Festival. It is awesome! The park is huge and has lots of animal exhibits and parking/camping.

This is actually two parks...the zoo and another area with a great wooden ship playground. Both are great! The zoo is very nice with paved walking trails and a nice collection of animals. Don't miss the gator pond immediately off to the left as you enter.

My husband and I regularly ride the bike trails at Cheehaw. I am all about fitness and he loves to race the GA and FL series. The folks really keep the trails up and are continually adding and improving. I never know what new trail will be added and where it will lead. No mountains, but plenty of fun and... More

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review! Our beautiful bike trails were installed and are maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers at the Park! It's amazing what they're able to do with the flat landscape of south Georgia. We are very lucky to have them! More

This truly has a great variety of things to do. There is the zoo and a twenty minute train ride. There are bike trails our son-in-law uses regularly and camping. Chehare has activities all year long.

I met some friends at Chehaw Park last week. The first thing we did was the zoo. I was instantly surprised at how nicely the animals were kept and displayed. The walkways were clean and easy to navigate. Most animals could be observed without having to looking through a fence. There was a fun, high bridge to give you a... More

The Parks at Chehaw was once a state park and was turned over to the city of Albany some time ago. It was a good state park, as all state parks in Georgia are really good places, but the City of Albany has done a great job in making Chehaw an adventure and family fun place to go. The setting... Went here to explore the mountain bike trails. They were fairly extensive but no real elevation and could use a few more features. Fun though. Surprisingly they had a BMX track that you could use and I radio controlled race car track made of dirt. Lots of places to picnic some water a small Zoo and camping I believe

Thanks for the review! The bike trails were designed, installed, and are maintained by a volunteer group called Chehaw Cycling. They have done an amazing job with the trails and have plans to add more miles and features! Thanks again, hope you'll come out and explore them again soon! More
