Made a quick trip to see the murals. Accessible, well lit and an impressive set of paintings. The next day we came back for the walking tour of Lake Wales Ridge flora. The trail was not well marked and a little rough for those with minor walking/balance challenges.

This is a gem of a museum on the state college campus. The current exhibit is an example of the Florida art and artists typically featured. It is definitely worth a visit.

Just renewed my tickets for this upcoming season. There are lots of great shows, and the theater is beautiful and the staff is always friendly.

We are very proud of our local college which started as a community college and became a full-fledged college. Many wonderful programs and classes are offered here. The museum is a lovely whimsical place. The "Diving Girl" on display there now has been a landmark and beloved item since I was a child in the 50s- early 60s. Before I was an Avon Park resident my family traveled through on the way from Miami to Tampa and the diving girl who once graced a local motel, was a sight of great excitement for me as we passed. We even stayed there one night because I was so thrilled by the "diving girl". I am glad she has found a home for all time safe from the ravages of hurricanes. I highly recommend this wonderful place if you want a sense of the heart of Avon Park!

Have been to SFSC many times, but this was our first visit to the Museum of Art & Culture. When we went they had a display called "A Slice of Heaven - US Highway 27" which looked at locations on the iconic route through the state of Florida.
We were impressed by the knowledge of the docents and even the museum curator was on hand to answer questions.
It was spacious and had a lot of opportunities for many different kinds of art and displays. This is a great place to visit, take kids, friends and family - plus it is free!

I've never seen ravens pictured so many ways, based off Aesop's fables. Most all black ink drawings. Many with famous people incorporated into raven pics. I enjoyed the Florida history Indian artifacts museum display mostly, then Christopher Stills paintings depicting Florida history outside coridor, leading to museum entrance. Originals are in Tallahassee at the capitol. No fee to enter is an added bonus!

This is a wonderful little art gallery. It is at the community college which is a wonderful idea. there is a lot to see. the local art is a wonderful change and it has some really good pieces. they change every 8 weeks or so so it doesn't get old. you can go and see as much as you would like.

Went to the recent exhibition of the Student Art Show last week. It was a marvelous show that showcased unseen talent from students. Its amazing to see what the college is capable of in the art department. Surely didn't disappoint, and the reception food was delicious! Would recommend bringing friends and family to spread the word.

Although a small museum, it offers a wide variety of art and artifacts, usually dealing with local artists, history and scenes.
It is next door to the Theater for Performing Arts and is open one hour before performances and at times during the week.
