Quick and easy
May 2021
It was a quick five-minute ride. The ferry kept us from experiencing the traffic on A1A and cut our travel time to Amelia Island.

Pelicans Galore - enjoy the quick ride
Nov 2020
Used the ferry to drive along the coast. My teen and I enjoyed the ride and the pelicans. There were picnic tables for a quick bite while we waited for the ferry.

Quick Ferry Cutting Travel time
Aug 2020
We used this Ferry to go to and from Amelia Island and Atlantic Beach area in order to cut off travel time. This is a very short ferry ride. Please check hours of operation. Reservations were not needed.

Pleasant and efficient
Nov 2020 • Couples
The ferry is a necessary link when driving A1A eliminating a significant trip around over much busier roadways. The ferry trip is short and pleasant and they are very efficient in maintaining the posted schedule.

After visiting Amelia Island for the day, thought it would be fun to take the ferry back to Jacksonville Beach area. Nice, quick trip across the St. Johns River.

Beautiful (if short) transport
Feb 2020
Tens of pelicans welcomed us to the ferry port on the Amelia Island side and flew along beside us as we were expertly transported (only ~10 minutes) to the Mayport side. Efficient. Safe. Cut the time to get to St Augustine by quite a bit.

Great way to get to Amelia Island
Jan 2020
Loved doing this. We drove from Jax Beach to Amelia Island via the Ferry. It was great! It was short but scenic and saves a lot of time if you're trying to get to Amelia Island from Jacksonville. Wish it stayed open later in the evening, as I believe the last boat off Amelia is 7pm. Will definitely do this again! I was surprised how many cars there were able to get on it!

Fun little trip
Jan 2020
Only adds a few extra minutes to your trip. Nice staff. Fun for a first timer. Only take about 5 minutes to cross the river.

Quik and convenient
Dec 2019
The ferry is a fun way to get across the St Johns River. It departs every 30 minutes and saves us a lot of time going from Jacjsonville Beach to Amelia Island.

Nothing beats the ferry from Mayport to Amelia Island.....
Nov 2019
Quick, scenic, convenient, and emotionally satisfying, this short jaunt across the mouth of the Saint Johns sure beats the heck out of boring highway driving. Nothing beats the scenery and emotional injection of all good things that comes from being out on the water, surrounded by sand, seagulls, pelicans, and rippling water.
