Small Beach
May 2021 • Family
This is a good place to watch the sunset. The beach is kind of small compared to Clearwater. But it's very convenient if you're by 75. There were public bathrooms.

Wonderful beach area that is not too crowded. Has public restroom. Fishing here is also popular. Close to manatee viewing area.

NIce sunsets
Dec 2020
We just moved to the area and was told this is a great place to see sunsets, wildlife and possibly a manatee or two.

We went on a couple occasions. First we went about 20 minutes before sunset. The parking lot gets full and there is a tower to climb to look out. With Covid, some people wore masks, some didn't. It is outside. The sunset view is great but make sure you leave immediately as the no see ems may get to you.

The second trip was during the day. We walked on the path and saw many fisherman on the shore and lots in boats in the river. Lots of birds but I did not see any other wildlife, although I was told if you had a boat you see the manatees, rays and tarpons.

A nice way to spend an hour or so. You cannot swim there and there isn't much as far as seashells go. It can get crowded at times and even on the trails, there are others nearby.

In Tampa Bay tonight swim do not swim in Tampa Bay it is not clean it is Baywater industrial water it does not have airflow water flow go to the real beach Clearwater on the golf side anywhere the bay is for boating and jet skiing there’s a lot of bacteria in the water no matter what anyone says don’t let your dog or your kids go underwater knee deep if necessary Sand in the area is also full of bacteria different times of the year and the seagulls are always pooping on it the nature preserve is stunningly beautiful for hiking if you want to go swimming get in your car and go to the Gulf Beaches Best Buy Jardin in the world you don’t have to swim and dirty Baywater

Stopped here with my family. It was a really nice sandy beach. Picnic area near the parking lot. Saw a guy fishing from the shore.

Beautiful, quiet and peaceful

Beautiful nature and quiet. Not far is the manatee viewing and I would recommend visiting both while in the area.

Quiet safe and clean
Mar 2020 • Couples
Second visit here, 1 year apart. The beach is clean, nice sand, it does say no swimming but we did go into the water both visits as did others. I really enjoyed the beautiful view and the relative quietness. Other beach visitors were polite too. There are many places to fish and set up umbrellas and chairs. I’ll come back every time I am here.

Very impress
Feb 2020
After being refused entry at the Manatee Viewing because I had my dog wasn't sure about going but was pleasantly surprised. Small beach, very shallow but lovely. No one questions my dog being on the beach, playing in the water, will be going back for sure.

White soft sand with clear cold water, weather was amazing and watching the sun go down here with my son couldn’t have been better. He loved everything

Manatee watch? Not today
Feb 2020 • Friends
We were disappointed with the condition of the Apollo Beach Nature Preserve. Restrooms were not well maintained, water on the floor and area was unmarked.
It was quite a distance to the beach,no directional signage and the beach offered little with regard to a nature preserve.
The Electric Company Power Plant facility was obtrusive, old and very unnatural for a nature preserve.
Visitors would be better off to go directly to the Manatee Viewing Area, a different location, but nearby, to watch the manatees and view and pet the Rays.
