This area really needed a boost and the Nature Preserve does just that. The nature preserve is great for taking a nice walk and doing a little fishing. Unfortunately, TECO is still the main attraction and is simply an eyesore.

This is a small preserve but with a terrific view of S. pete and Tampa. It has a small beach, picnic tables and bathrooms. It is in the shadow of the Teco Electric plat. A nice place to visit, especially to see a sunset.

We visited the Manatee viewing area in November. There was many because they wanted the warmer water near the power plant. Theres a souvenir shop, and they also have stingrays in a pool that you can touch.

Come by and see the sunsets. Watch out for fishers though, and make sure you stay off the rocks. You don't want to get cut up.

We had visited the electric plant earlier in the day and this preserve was not far from it. Although it’s not a typical “beach”, it was clean and we were able to sit by the water. My husband and daughter walked out in the water...More
