If you are a knitter like I am, this store holds a small, but well stocked section of quality yarns in the back and books for the rest of your party to browse in the front. I was able to buy some new to me brands of yarn such as Queensland Collection and Viking of Norway and some old favorites... More

They have a nice variety of books, and they also have some gift things there as well. My mother in law but a game of "Bug" Bingo for the kids. Very friendly staff, and cool music in the background as well.

Camping on SGI and I'm out of yarn. I sigh heavily as I struggle for service and hopefully search maps and TripAdvisor for yarn stores in the area. Alas. None showed up. BUT! Whilst meandering the ACola streets I see a sign for "Books and Purl". Of course only a knitter would recognize "purl". So I excitedly drug my partner... More

Cute little bookstore in the heart of Apalachicola. Reasonably priced and great selection. There is even a knitting section the back. Shop local and get a book from this gem of a shop.

My wife and I both love books. We were touring Apalachicola and found this in the downtown area. I have limited mobility, so I found a table in the back while my wife browsed. In the back they have a complete supply for the knitter with every variety of yarn known to man in a neat arrangement about the room.... More

This is one of the shops I visit EVERY time I'm in Apalachicola. I've been traveling to Apalachicola every year for the past three years and this is always on my list of must-stops. The owner is super friendly and the book selection is Bette than would be expected for a small owner-operated book store. It's a definite must-shop place!

We visit St. George island each year and never miss a chance to stop in town and visit this nifty little shop. This shop is small, but it has a varied selection for readers young and old, plus a yarn section in the back.

During an afternoon in Apalachicola my husband and I spent some time in this sweet, local bookstore. Complete with a sleeping cat that tolerates customers, this store makes you want to support local establishments. Good reads on Florida history, current best sellers and children's books.

If any of you remember the romantic comedy movie "You've Got Mail" with Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, this little book store with knitting material fits the title "The Shop Around the Corner". I don't know much about the knitting material, but the books offered are up-to-date, all genres as well as being indicative of the area. The store owner... More
