So very close to the mainland but so quaint and authentic beach. The pier, the restaurants, the shops...all old beach charming. It’s great white sand and crystal clear water. Beaches and their attractions don’t get much more authentic or homey.

We have been big fans of the City Pier Restaurant for years and were very disappointed to see it closed down due the hurricane last year. We visited the island again in April 2019 and saw the construction crew working on the new pier. Local...More

My family and I were disappointed to arrive to the pier to see that it wasn’t there! It has been taken down for renovations. I suppose it’s unavoidable but still disappointing.

This once beautiful pier is gone. It has literally been washed away. Too bad☹️ Hopefully it will be rebuilt in the near future.

The hurricane wiped it out, but it's in the process of being rebuilt - if you like to watch barges, ships and docks/piers being installed this is a great place to see it!

We adored the original pier and were saddened to see it severely damaged in the big storm. The rebuild is in progress and we certainly hope it moves along quickly and that they keep as much of the original design and ‘feel’ it once had....More

Pleased to say that as we left at end of January they had started to put piling in for the new pier. Due to be finished by July and open by December.

Anna Maria Island has several charming spots to view Tampa Bay & the Gulf of Mexico, & this is one which includes both! You can see Tampa in the distance, & looking left, you’re staring into the Gulf...Lots of waterfowl made it an interesting place...More

Pier was damaged by a hurricane, and has now been completely removed. Sign says it will re-open when repaired (Ithink they mean replaced and or rebuilt)

Just a beautiful view of the water where the City Pier once stood. Damaged by the last Hurricane, it was torn down, razed, removed? But it is no longer at the end of Pine street

Yes, unfortunately the Pier was demolished after the hurricane in September 2017. They are in the process of rebuilding. Hope it doesn't take too long. My memories will always be tied to the old one...........
