Great place to watch sunset but the sand fleas (or No See-Ums, as they are sometimes called) were out in full force at that time of day and I was eaten alive. Don't sit directly on the sand!

It is worth the long walk through the beach access. Powdery white sand, dolphins swimming by and the best view on Anna Maria Island. Street parking can be a problem and no facilities of any kind.

An amazing, must see part of Anna Maria Island. You feel as if you are on the edge of the earth. Beautiful soft sand, dolphins and blue blue water for miles.....not too busy either.

I read about Bean Point beach in a magazine calling it one of the prettiest beaches in the USA, so we had to check it out. Parking is tough in the area as it is in a residential area. We were there on a freezing...More

Fine, white sand. No services but in January also no parking problems, no masses and a great view. Really worth the drive to get to the farthest part of the island.

This is one of the most beautiful white sand beaches I’ve been to. I have been to many beaches worldwide and this beach is my new favourite.. Too bad I live so far away...very clean. It wasn’t crowded the day I was there. Perfect to...More

The sand here is amazing, so soft. Parking can be tricky. Watch the signs and follow the directions so you don’t get a ticket. Sunsets here are also amazing as you have an extra wide view.

Most of AMI is rather calm. The gulf side typically doesn't get large waves like the east coast of FL. The Sandbar restaurant is a great place for families to set up camp at the beach and have access to the beach... More

Check out Duncan Real Estate on the island, they have great rentals and are easy to work with. We stay at "seascapes" right at bean point directly across from the path, great location.

Trip Report 06/11/2016 - 06/18-2016 (9 Replies)
I think I've found a new favorite vacation place! We all absolutely loved it here! We stayed in Bradenton Beach and it was lovely! Every day except for Thursday (waves were rough) we went to the beach. We made it to Bean Point to watch the sunset and got some wonderful pictures. My 20 year old daughter and her boyfriend would take off in the afternoon to "explore the island" and immediately headed to Bridge Street lol. We ate at a few different places and I loved The Bridge Tender Inn! Best...More

I like Santa Rosa Beach too, but I would also choose AMI over it. Glad you had a fun vacation. AMI is special!

I've mainly lurked on this forum but thought I would post our trip report for anyone in the midst of planning that might be interested. My DH & I were traveling with our 12 month old DD. I am happy to report that our suspicions were correct. AMI was a GREAT place to vacation with a little one. We decided early on that we didn't want the hassle of a rental car. DH has been traveling on business alot & we spend Mon - Fri sitting in traffic. We needed a break from driving, driving, driving....More

Bradenton Beach or further North?? (27 Replies)
I'm looking to rent a cottage for 5 days early November 2017. We are a family of 6 with 4 kids aged 6 to 14. Have found a GORGEOUS cottage close to Bradenton beach but I'm a bit worried that area is a bit too 'lively' for us. Found another lovely place on 62nd a bit more expensive and not quite as nice and then a third place very close to Bean Point, much dearer and not as nice as the other 2. Bean Point looks so lovely though. Any advice on which property???

We prefer the north end. You should know that the beach at Bean Point has no facilities but if the house is very close you might be able to walk home for bathroom, snacks, etc. If you share addresses someone might be able to help you a little better. We stayed in all three towns this winter and love the quieter north end. BB has lots of restaurants, etc. Someone else here mentioned they find it tacky. We did, also, but I am sure there are people who would disagree.
