Enjoyable long standing (74th season;1949) community theatre. A small theatre of less than 150 seats set in an historic island house at the corner of Gulf Drive and Pine avenue. The seating is very comfortable with excellent sight lines and sound. The pricing is quite reasonable with tickets available online or from the theatre box office. Usually several productions throughout the year. Check their website for production and pricing details. Coupled with a pre-show dinner makes for a unique and enjoyable AMI evening.

Attended the Island Players show "Play On" It was delightful. I don't much care to go to the theater, but I would recommend this show for all guys that need points at home.
Take your lady or lady friend to see this show. It ain't Broadway but it was great community theater.

nothing wrong with non-professional so long as there's a professional attitude, and there certainly is here, enhanced by a small but not cramped theater from which every word and every motion is well conveyed to all but the most auditorially and visually challenged

Have seen shows there before, and performances are OK. Want to see a show there now but can only buy tickets by phone and box office says they will call back but they don't. Emails to the president, the only contact on their website, are not answered, I guess they must be doing just fine and are sold out so see no need to respond.

Something not sounding right here bulldog620. When the box office is not open, the phone does not take messages and is not set up for call backs so I'm not sure what happened to imply to you that you would get a call back. Perhaps you could give more information? Email to the President usually get a reply within a few days. Is your "spam" filter allowing them through? Otherwise, yes we are doing fine and even when "sold out" we would reply to emails. Here's hoping you get to enjoy one of our upcoming shows.

Finally got tickets to this theatre, and We were sadly disappointed.
The stage and costumes were fine, but the acting was not. Very Very disappointed, I have been to better high school productions..

Just got in from the first night at the Island Players..Super evening the play was funny and poignant always a good combination..There is not a bad seat in the house the theatre is so small.. One of the best plays we have seen there

Small theatre puts on about 10 plays a session. All are very entertaining and enjoyable. The actors are usually local residents.

Anna Maria Island has made made great waves in the tourist industry in recent years for its great beaches and old world laid-back ambiance. Well, you all must also ride the waves too at this little local community theater where local talent and hospitality combine to provide 1st class entertainment on a regular basis during their season October thru May. The last show 'The Murder Room', was an absolute hoot, directed by a genius and played by aspiring actors, young and older! I have seen many plays here now and would encourage visitors to check the play calendar on their website, www.theislandplayers.org, before booking their vacation so as not to miss out!

The production was very well done and we will be making our way back to see another production. The cast did a great job and you will be amazed at what comes out of this place.

Small 241 seat theater -- not a bad seat in the house -- wonderful. Each production is so much fun -- the volunteers are fabulous and the evening or afternoon enchanting -- for on ly $20 -- a real bargain
