Took the gondola to the top of the mountain. What views! Food was really good, if pricey. Took the nature trail hike and played some bag-o! Somewhat surreal! The trip back down in the gondola provides panoramic views of the town of Aspen.

If you've outgrown bumps and never got beyond advance and early expert, try one of the other mountains in the area. Give a day just for the gondola ride

My son and I came up on a rainy day but still had a ball playing chess, badminton, checkers, frisbee, just plain old good FREE family fun, after you pay for ride up

You need to be an expert, strong, jacked up hiker to start from the Ute Trail and to hike to the top of Ajax. I do this every year because I'm awesome. If you are old (40-50) you can't do it. If you are really little like about 10 or 13 you can't. At 14 it's so easy! It's like... More

Aspen Mountain is just breathtaking! We took the Gondola up the first day to enjoy the view, and it was incredible. The second day we hiked up the mountain on Ajax trail. This is rated an expert trail, and it was pretty tough. My wife had walking sticks, and they helped her a lot. Bring your walking sticks. We made... More

And best part of it - besides views - was a yoga class "on top of the mountain" which I took on Friday at 10:30AM. It's only $5 per person and if it rains that day (which it was when I was there) then it's being held indoors.

I have been going to Aspen mountain for years now. My parents went when they were kids, and they loved it. I don't think that people realize how wonderful the mountain is during the summer. The views are breathtaking, the hiking trails are well maintained, the Sundeck lodge has great food (at a high price, I recommend bringing your own),... More

We paid the $22 to ride up to the top of the mountain during the summer. But it was worth it. Just fabulous views from the top.
