Area is clean, decently sized urban park, with a pond, a visitor center, tennis, soccer fields, basketball court, and great view of the mountains.

Too many folks don't stay on the trail and many allow their dogs to run free. Use to see the occasional deer, racoon, owls and bobcat. Now there is nothing, perhaps more parts of the trail should be fenced off since folks can't respect the rules.

The playground here was completely re-done about two years ago and features a sort of 'pirate' theme with a variety of platforms, slides and swings and a large rock formation. There are nice benches around the playground for adult observation and lots of mature trees for shade. There is a ditch that runs adjacent to the playground, possibly an old farmers canal, that now carries neighborhood run-off water...you'll want to watch little ones so that they don't decide to get too close. The park itself is large with great walking trails, spectacular views of the front range, and an excellent nature center where many programs are held throughout the year in conjunction with the Apex Recreation District.

There is something here for everyone- beautiful gardens, great walking/running paths, large grassy area for frisbe/ball toss, wildlife viewing around the pond, nice tennis courts and play area for kids, and a nature center. Always plenty of free parking and never crowded.

I take Tai Chi Monday afternoons here at the Nature Center. It is always great to be outside so view the wildlife and enjoy all the trees, the ducks feeding on the pond, and see the seasons change!

Are you able to have a graduation party here? We have tables, chairs and a few canopy for shade.

Congratulations to the Grad!
The Majestic View Nature Center does book rentals if you're looking for inside space for your party. We also have a few chairs and tables available inside in case of bad weather. To ask about pricing and make a reservation, please call the Nature Center at 720-898-7405.
If you're just looking to have the party in the park, no reservations are needed as it is a public park. Just make sure you have sandbags to hold down your canopy as you can't use stakes in the park. A lot of people who just want to gather in the park will meet at the parking lot off of 72nd and Carr as there is a playground and more outside space for tents and such.

what is the distance around the lake ??
Anna H

Hi Jennifer! The lake does not have a trail that wraps all the way around so we don't know that measurement. But, the trails around the park are between 1 and 1.5 miles, depending on which loop you take. Hope this helps and if you have any other questions, feel free to call the center at 720-898-7405.
