Right on the property of the Chapel on the Rock, Tahosa Coffee Shop (check web for open days/times) is located in what once was a stone storage building, but remodeled and a deck was added. This building, north of the driveway to the Chapel, houses a gift shop and coffee house that serves Boulder OZO coffee, pastries, burrito, and most importantly offers, cow, almond and oat milks! The interior of the building is calm and serene, the staff super friendly and the coffee/tea is very good. This just makes St. Malo a great stop when visiting the area. Tahosa Coffee Shop just opened Summer 2023.

I read somewhere (maybe here??) that the chapel is open until 4:00 pm every day. So, when we passed by at 3:40, we pulled in to the lot. I took a few pictures of the outside, and then walked up the stairs to see inside. There were no signs up that this isn’t allowed. Imagine my embarrassment when I walked in to a wedding in progress! I made a quick exit. A few signs up around the property stating that the interior is not accessible to the public might be a good idea.

After a long day atop the summit we were racing the sun down the mountain when we came upon this jewel. With a 56 degree breeze and the shadow of the church roaring across the road it called us in. As we passed the church, the beauty caused us all to turn in disbelief. I immediately turned the car around without asking the occupants. We pulled in and the van was silent. Thoughts of hogwarts were being thrown out into the air as we exited. Every time we turned around there was another picture worth a thousand words. Bees and butterfly’s brought us peace while the breeze filled our lungs with fresh cool mountain air. This was truly a blessed placed for not just us but anyone who may fall at the feet of it’s stunning ability to blend into the mountainside.

The church with the mountains in the background makes for a beautiful scene! Nice stop. We didn't go inside the church because Mass was taking place, but we did visit the gift shop. Neat to see that Pope John Paul II had visited. We also visited Lily Lake and the Wild Basin while in this area of the park, and I wish we had spent more time there!

Inspired by a biblical phrase “upon this rock I will build my church.” Stopped here on our way to Estes Park, and I highly encourage you to do the same. It’s a beautiful chapel with interesting history. It’s truly inspirational and picturesque!

You will never experience anything like this place. It is more than spiritual, it's a architectural wonder in a setting beyond reason in a jaw dropping location. Your trip to Colorado isn't complete until you've visited.

A charming roadside chapel to find a bit of quiet and reverence. If you blink you may drive right by it at first like we did. It is a small church that is guarded by a statue of Jesus that overlooks it. It is worth the stop.

While on the way out of the Rocky Mountain National Park area, we decided to defy the GPS and take a more scenic, less major highway route out of the park. This chapel was on the route. The chapel isn't anything special on the inside, but the outside is beautiful.

We went there right after 10 am on a Sunday. There were a few people there at the time. The chapel was open and was beautiful and peaceful. You can go up a few stairs to the balcony and ring the church bells and oversee the chapel. The grounds are accessible and there is parking both at the church and up the way (walkable) at the gift and coffee shop. Lots of teas and coffees and pastries available for purchase. There are also bathrooms there. Loved it

We drove by the chapel, but there is major construction outside and the parking area is closed as well as the entrance to the chapel. It's still an interesting place to view. It was very easy to find. If you decide to go visit, stop in at Eagle Plume's.
