We snorkeled at this beach and did the Sea Trek. They charge you two dollars just to sit on the beach, seventy-eight dollars for two beach lounge chairs and five hundred dollars for a cabana.

The Catalina beaches are not very wide and so they can feel crowded at times. There are opportunities for some interesting snorkeling - bring your own or rent. The water is on the cooler side year round so a wetsuit is often advised.

We enjoyed two afternoons here at this beachfront hotel. Service at the grill was very good - drinks and food were prepared well and the live music in the afternoon added to the beach atmosphere. We had to pay to use the beach - $2 a person but the lounge chairs and great atmosphere made the small fee seem very... More

We are a senior couple and although this beach rocks for a younger crowd, we had a ball. Great music (DJ), drinks and food. Service is available on the beach. A variety of seating, many opportunities for shade. Rentals for the beach include chairs, towels and umbrellas. Lots of fun. Highly recommended.

We got there early to get a spot. The beach is private so you have to pay to be there. Fortunately our hotel includes free access. It's expensive to rent anything, so bring your beach chairs or buy them downtown! Water is super clear and has lots of rocks but it is really nice.

The atmosphere on the weekend is like a large beach party. The open-air restaurant has a large bar & DJs play music. However, away from the beach are activities one can do like 'zip-lining', etc.

The 20-something bachelor and bachelorette parties seem to have taken over this small stretch of sandy beach, and now it's nothing but cocktails and loud music and people wanting to be seen. Not my kind of beach vacation, but if you want servers delivering beverages to you as you fight to keep your tiny plot of land, then go for... More

They put some money into the place since I was last here, I was pleasantly surprised. You can ride the zipline, snuba, kayak, get drinks at one of multiple bars. If you sit on their beach they have waiters that come out and take your order from the sand. Much recommended. The bar has a myriad of fun drinks including... More

Just half a mile from our hotel Catalina is a wonderful experience to see all the boats ,and have the kids play at waters edge, while the parents can watch for their safety from it's restaurant that is on it's sea edge.

The beach is rocky but beautiful. It is pricey to rent a cabana-$350.00/day or lounge chair/$150/day but just eat at the outdoor restaurant and soak up the tropical ambience for the price of a typical bistro on the mainland. Delicious drinks and simple tasty and light bistro faire.
