Andy was amazing! This was my 3rd California dive. Much better than La Jolla. Andy had everything laid out. He explained everything about the gear on the surface, was very attentive in the water, and understood my underwater communication. I encountered a little snafu underwater, but Andy helped me to solve it underwater--though he was willing to surface as well.... More

I booked an introductory dive with Diving Catalina so that I could try scuba for the first time (I am not certified.) My instructor Andy was clear and thorough in explaining all the basics and was very professional. I had a difficult time feeling at ease at first and Andy was incredibly patient and helpful and attentive. Once I did... More

If your looking for a dive shop you can trust, your looking for this one Dave knows his stuff and has obviously done this for awhile. Our conditions were not stellar, with a post storm surge hanging around, but Dave helped us make the best of it. We got to see some pretty cool stuff, even with the not so... More

Diver Dave is such a homie. After struggling for over 30 minutes to prove a friend's Padi certification, Dave offered to do our scheduled 2nd dive later in the day to avoid rushing. This was an awesome accommodation and made us feel very welcome. Getting into all our gear, Dave went over the purpose and function of everything (without making... More

The snorkeling was amazing! The instructors have extensive knowledge on the fishes. You have a chance to feed the fishes and swim among them. Well worth the money.

I have been serving with the Catalina Island Conservancy Corps through Americorps, and living on the island for almost a month now. I have dabbled in many of the island's attractions, and my snorkel experience was by far the best. I went with my team and we were blown away by the amount of fish we saw, the quality of... More

You cannot pick any better scuba instructor in Catalina than Dave with Diving Catalina! I am so grateful for the Introductory Dive! As a new diver, Dave was extremely patient.Even though he gave a very thorough introductory training, I still freaked out a little bit before my descent, and he explained clearly what was going on, and helped me calm... Diving Catalina and Diver Dave were great! We did two guided dives with Dave in the morning, then we rented gear in the afternoon for some un-guided dives. Everyone in the office was very helpful, and Diver Dave was very attentive. He even let us borrow his personal dive computers for free!

We came to Catalina for my bf's birthday weekend. Since we got scuba certified in tropical water a month before, we wanted to try out the local scene. Setting up the reservations was easy. As the day approached I was worried about the water temperature (I had not tried diving with a wet suit.) Dave soon put my fears to... More

As an experienced diver I sincerely appreciated how Dave asked me and customized my interests on our 2 dives. Dave, being a very experienced instructor, quickly assessed my abilities as a diver and was informative and supportive to the perfect degree. Since the Casino Point Dive Park is a protected area, the fish species were abundant and was even able... More
