On the tour you might see bald Eagles soaring high above, the shy Santa Catalina Island fox, and American bison. Not to mention the rare plants and archaeological sites. We arrived in Avalon from Dana Point via the 9:45am Express, had a filling breakfast and walked to Conservancy, conveniently located close to the Crescent promenade. There are a number of "tours" available to visitors on Catalina Island, over the years I have taken a number of the historic bus city tours, Extreme off road tours, from both Two Harbors,... More

First off, our driver Beth was phenomenal! Long time resident of the island and full of knowledge with a quick, dry wit. We took the 2 hour tour and witnessed some great scenery, experienced some fun off-road trails, saw 3 herds of bison, and learned quite a bit about Catalina's history and ecology. The seats were SUPER comfortable which was... More

This was the highlight of our trip and totally worth it!! Andrew told amazing anecdotes to provide a wonderful insider's experience during our tour. He was entertaining, knowledgeable, and very in-tuned to the comfort-level of our family. Obviously, safety is always a priority, but he went the extra mile to make sure this worry-wart of a mom was having a... More

Ron was an excellent guide, driving thru parts of the island not usually seen - if you only stay in Avalon. Lots of history, back stories of people on the island as well as interesting nature topics. The jeep was comfortable with stops along the way for photo ops and bio breaks.

LOVED this tour! Our guide, Ron, was a wealth of information and tailored the tour to where we wanted to go and what interests we had. We spent 4 hours driving around and learning about the history and ecosystem of Catalina, saw lots of animals, and got to stop and explore the beaches around Two Harbors and Little Harbor. Highly... We picked the 3 hours tour on a Sunday morning. It was cold but luckily there were blankets provided by the driver. She was extremely knowledgeable about everything on Catalina Island providing lots of information and interesting tits and bits along the way. The weather that particular morning was very foggy in particular on our way up. The driver took... More

Must-see tour for nature lovers and those seeking to learn more about Catalina's wildlife. Our tour guide, Ron was great. We learned the history of the bison and cattle from early Avalon, learned about and saw a bald eagle, as well as a red fox! We got lucky enough to see one up close but I wasn't fast enough to... What better way to learn about a place then spend several hours with a person who has lived there 25+ years? We took the 3-hour tour because when we looked at the maps at where the different tours went, the 3-hour tour went to more places on the island, and we wanted to see more. We spotted some of the... My husband and I had previously been on a quick day trip (6 hours) to Catalina Island with my parents, but we had a few days to spend this time. We were looking for a couple of activities for our visit. We saw the 2 hour jeep tour for $70 per person, it's usually more than we would spend, but... More
