Renting a kayak and paddling around the harbor near Avalon was easy and fun. Just past the harbor there are several beaches were you can stop and enjoy some sun and time in the water. You will also enjoy seeing a wide variety of fish as you cruise around.

If you're looking for a place to kayak in Southern California, Catalina Island is the best! Kayak rentals are reasonable, crew members were friendly and will definitely take care of you!

Don't forget to bring your phone- they do offer protective cases for such things. The tour guide we had was fun and knew a lot about the island. We almost got to see a pod of dolphins feeding up close- but their food got scared off by some speed boats (sad face). But it was still a lot of fun- I would do it again.

It was our first time kayaking so we were kind of nervous. The lady to us that theres a storm warming, no lifeguard and so we are on our own. We still went and end up having so much fun. We didnt tip over which is good :) also, saw a sea lion swimming next to our kayak. Best time! I would recommend it.

I was in Catalina in February and a group of us did the kayak trip. We saw sharks and lots of seals and in general had a fun time. The weather for February was very nice so we really took advantage of it by doing this trip. The staff and guides were fun and informative.
