Carpe Vino

Carpe Vino is and excellent gourmet restaurant with an incredible wine selection. Ask for Jana Kosmata, she really knows her stuff.

This is a classic old gold rush town, nice shops and restaurants. Nice day out shopping or just a stop off the hwy on your road trip.

We drove around the town and after a bit took a short walk through the old town. The weather was quite hot so I think a walking tour is best in fall or spring. The city hall is beautiful and the homes in town are charming.

It's the Wandering Yank here. Mrs. Yank and I recently went to the Auburn Alehouse (see my review), and we walked around for a while both before and after. It's fairly well restored. There are a number of good restaurants, interesting shops and an art gallery or two. We always enjoy walking around to see the menus and what's in... More

Had a couple of hours to spend in Old Town Auburn. Such a calm and quaint little town. Lots of local eateries, bars and shops. My favorite places are Bootleggers restaurant. My favorite shops are Sierra Moon Jewlery, the Sliver store. It's a must stop and see place on your travels through the Foothills!

A lovely town from the Gold mining era, historical as well as interesting and fun shops. I KNOW you'll find something you cant live without! Several excellent eateries for many taste buds.

I enjoyed a trip through Old Town Auburn. Lots of restaurants. Shops had good quality items for sale. At Serendipity, they gift wrapped my purchase with a smile for free.

I first came into Old Town Auburn in the late 90's. It so charmed my midwest upbringing I thought I had walked into the Wild West for sure. Then as now antiques, art and buildings from the 1800's lined the streets. Old taverns and live music then. Today the streets are a bit different the California Club remains, the old firehouse, but... Auburn is an adorable, quaint town off Highway 80. It's a great place to visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner as a destination in and of itself or on your way to North Lake Tahoe. Awful Annie's used to be in Old Town but recently moved to a bigger location off Highway 80. It's a great for breakfast and lunch... More

First exit off I-80 east, bear right at the huge concrete gold miner and find yourself in this quaint little section of Auburn. Parking fairly easy, get out and stretch your legs kind of spot between San Francisco and Tahoe. Antique shops, a few art places, have a meal and walk up the hill to the historic Court house. Those... More
