About
Nicholson Vineyards is an award winning Santa Cruz Mountains family owned boutique winery in Aptos in the Corralitos foothills producing chardonnay, pinot noir and olive oil. Our boutique Santa Cruz Mountains winery is located at the end of Pleasant Valley in Aptos in the Corralitos foothills. The winery grounds are planted with four acres of estate Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes, as well as 4 acres of Tuscan varietal olive trees. In addition to our wonderful extra virgin olive oil, we produce over 1000 cases of wine annually, which include limited releases of our estate wines, as well as additional production of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah Grenache, Sangiovese and Zinfandel from Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties. The winery is open for tasting Saturdays and Sundays Noon to 5 pm, except for special event days. We hope you have the opportunity to visit, and join us in savoring a glass of wine. Relax and enjoy the vineyard and valley views while you share a picnic lunch with friends under the Oaks.

We originally had planned to drive to Napa but decided to try the Aptos, Santa Cruz region after reading great reviews of the wineries in the region. We were pleasantly surprised finding this lovely place. It was a gorgeous day in January. We did the tasting of 5 or 6 wines. I love Pinot Noir and they had other delicious selections as well. My only regret is that we had not thought to bring any snacks and none were available. Wish we could have bought some bottles but since we were traveling and flying it was not feasible. We had a great time & made wonderful memories. I highly recommend this winery.

Nicholson is a family operation with vineyards and an olive grove. I've visited during special events such as Corralitos Wine Trail and Passport weekend and have found the experience to be really enjoyable. The family gets involved and everyone is extremely warm. The wines are great, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Zinfandel are among the varietals they are making. The winery is open by appointment only to groups of 6 or more. Visit them during one of the days they are open for a special event!

This is by far the most beautiful, tranquil, and secluded winery we've ever visited. Tasting wines from grapes that are growing just mere feet from you is a cool experience. We loved being able to bring a couple pizzas with us from a local pizzeria and sit outside under mature shade trees on a perfectly warm evening. All of the wines we tried were fantastic, most especially the estate pinot noir varietals.

I went to the tasting for the new pinots at Nicholson. This winery consistently makes some of the best Pinot Noirs in the area.

Gorgeous setting far enough away from the coast so the morning fog does not cloud the sky. We paid $10 to taste seven different wines that were made at least in part with grapes grown on the property.

There is a beautiful large shade tree grove that you can sit under on a warm day and enjoy your samples. Many brought picnics and were clearly enjoying the wonderful property.

We spent some time with the owner and got a real feel for what running a winery was all about, and how much she loves the business. Everyone else we met was very friendly.

This place is out of the way, but I highly recommend making the trip and buying their wines.

We live in the area and just recently have started exploring our wonderful local wineries. As a side note, we are big fans of Sonoma County (usually visit there at least 2x a year) and are heartbroken about the devastating wildfires ravaging that area right now.
Visiting Nicholson reminded us very much of the beauty we love in Sonoma. They had a Pinot tasting going on for $20pp but instead we bought a bottle of their delicious Chardonnay ($28) and enjoyed it at one of their many picnic tables. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

Beautiful Scenery and friendly staff running the vineyard
The tasters were full glasses and came a really good explanation of the process and what goes into each wine
Well worth a visit, the wine was lovely, even the White and I am not normally a fan!
