If you are looking for an intimate experience at a picnic table at a vineyard with a knowledgeable person who lives the life, this is your place. Up on Howell Mountain, Heather and her pups greet you with warm hospitality and delicious wines. Far from other crowded, pretentious wineries in Napa Valley, we are reminded of the family wineries that started the whole thing. Just the two of us enjoyed each wine in the fresh mountain air bringing several home with us (plan accordingly), and Heather herself made the visit extra special with engaging conversation making us feel truly welcomed at her home. A refreshing experience that I would truly recommend to anyone looking for an authentic connection to the grapes and people, escaping fru fru and commercialism.
We also appreciated that the $75/pp tasting fee went toward any wine we purchased. This took the pressure off knowing if we didn't like the wine, we wouldn't be completely waste their time, but of course, we loved it, especially the zin. Make sure to allow yourself time for the drive up.

Whether it is the quality of the location, the wine, or the people, Summit Lake Vineyards exceeds expectations in every category. My friends and I spent a lovely afternoon in a tasting at Summit Lake in April of 2022 and we still regularly reminisce about the amazing experience to this day. We were given a personal, unique, educational and memorable experience drinking amazing red wines while sitting in the actual vineyards in which the wine was grown. It took our breath away. 1Thank you to Heather and the entire team at Summit Lake Vineyards and Winery for making this an experience we will never forget!

This was our second stop of the Christmas Trip to Napa. A real family wine experience, we loved the story of the place as well as their wines that have a pretty good quality and even better PQR.
One of our favorites was the Zinfandel. You can't go wrong with that price.

For our private tasting we were met by the proprietor and his daughter on their lovely property up on Howell Mtn. From the very drinkable Rose, through their entire lineup we enjoyed our time as well as the wines and the peaceful setting. Given their very modest prices for this high rent district, I plan to continue to search out Summit Lake wines for some time to come.
