This stinks. The sign said 65 minute wait. It has been an hour 50 minutes and we are still trapped in a line inside with no idea how much longer of a wait. Line hardly moves and no employees in sight. Come on Disneyland, you can estimate your lines better than this!

The wife and the 9 year old son loved this ride.. They did it twice whilst once was enough for me. It's pretty much the same as it was before but with a Star Wars theme now.

If you get a Fastpass for a ride that has stopped / failed, you are given a Free Replacement Fastpass to use throughout the day. The catch is that this ride is NOT included as one of the rides you can use the replacement Fastpass on.. Don't be caught out..

They have made it Star Wars themed now so it really is an awesome ride for fans. A ride that goes in circles and in the dark so be warned. Wyself and my teens loved it, the younger ones may not.

I still remember my 1st ride on Space Mountain in the mid 80’s at WDW. I was so happy to have the opportunity to ride it at DL on our recent visit. Ride first thing in the morning or get a fastpass. So fun!

The ride is okay but the staff are incredibly surly and that is putting it politely. I made the mistake of asking one of them a question and she completely ignored me, only to leave and talk to two further families. The ride has plenty of twists and turns but I found the cast members to be rather unfriendly.

Classic ride which I have been on before in Disney world. I just didn’t remember the ride going so fast, throws you in a different directions and generally made me feel quite sick afterwards.

I though as it only had a lap restraint it would be pretty tame. It’s not, good for those who love speed I suppose!

I would not recommend (each to there own!)

I don't like the Florida Space Mountain because it is downright painful, but I had to try out this one. I like the seating configuration on this ride better because it's 2 and 2. Also, it seemed much smoother. Yes, it still may be rough compared to some others but way better than Florida...in my opinion.

My daughter loved this ride, but it’s the only one that gave me motion sickness. Something about the constant looping in the darkness with the hyperspace lights blasting by. I found that if you close your eyes, it mitigates some of the motion sickness ;)
Still fun though :)

Space Mountain was my all-time favorite ride at Disneyland as it was the most thrilling, or so I thought as a youngster. The older I got, I realized that the visual effects are what made it more thrilling than it actually was. Opened in 1977, it’s the second iteration of the ride that resides in five of Disney’s parks. This version is a little smaller than the original one in the Magic Kingdom which features dual tracks.

EXPERIENCE:
Being a product of the 70’s, the look today is retro, but it only adds to the charm and brings back fond childhood memories. After a long and seemingly endless queue, you finally make it inside the “mountain” where you can see the loading platform and riders blasting off. Wait, OMG, the line is still going!? Yup, you still need to circle the perimeter of the building before boarding. Grr! This by far is the worst queue line as you can see so far ahead of you, unlike Splash Mountain which messes with your visuals.

So how does a rollercoaster without any inversions and a top speed of 35 mph stay popular? Because it’s indoors and in the dark! It’s a mix of darkness, special lighting effects, and music that makes this juvenile-class coaster fun, even for adults. Spinning and motion-style lighting effects in the tunnels ups the speed factor, visually. Also, not being able to see where you’re going makes things a lot more fun and unnerving. You really do feel like you’re in outer space with the cool a/c blowing through your hair and the stars all around you whizzing by in your peripherals. The drops aren’t real high but are still fun, along with jarring, side-to-side banking. Every now and then, you can faintly make out a section of coaster above you which makes you flinch in fear of smacking your noggin against it. Ride time is an average two minutes or so.

I was very disappointed as the last time we were here, Space Mountain just closed down for a multi-year renovation. But, that’s when I discovered Splash Mountain which easily became my favorite ride in the park!

TIP:
Go on YouTube and type in “Space Mountain with lights on” and you’ll see what I mean about the darkness fun factor.

OVERALL:
Another Disney classic that’ll never die!
