I had this ride with my 10 y. o. daughter. What a horrible experience! This ride is so rough, jerky, uncomfortable, scary and bumpy - you can fill it's over 60 y. o. even after renovation! I was praying for it to end the entire time on the ride. It is really dangerous for your physical and mental health. My daughter complained that ride gave her a headache and she had tremor in her hands. I have sore neck and back. If they are not able to replace the track and sleds with something smoother, then they have to close this attraction. I feel this is my duty to warn others about this ride.

This is not the Matterhorn ride that you remember It was a horrible experience…the ride was so rough that my back is still hurting five days later. From the initial lurch forward, slamming my back into the seat, I had to tense every muscle in my body to prevent getting slammed around in the car. I was praying for it to end the entire time on the ride. In my opinion, this classic attraction needs to be closed and the track refurbished.

This is a fun ride but you can get banged around a bit. It has never been a smooth ride and maybe it is because I am getting older, but riding once during our 5 days in Disneyland was more than enough for me. Space Mountain and Big Thunder are much smoother rides.
The lines get long though so it is still a popular ride.

A truly awful ride. My 16yo son and I felt lucky to survive it. It jars you side-to-side violently such that my glasses almost flew off...the entire time. Truly cannot believe this is still operating. Needs to be retired ASAP. Do. Not. Ride.

This ride was old when I was a kid 30 years ago. That being said, it's a classic. It more or less hasn't changed since I was a kid, and you feel every bump and jolt this ride has to offer. My 5 year old was the only member of my family brave enough to ride it with me, and he liked it except for the abominable snowman part, which I think has been scaring kids since the park opened.
It's still fun and brings back memories, but could probably use a renovation or two.

Of all the rides we did at Disneyland and DCA, this is the one I'd ride again last.
Its an old ride, and you feel every bump and turn. Very uncomfortable and nowhere near as fun as Thunder Mountain or Space Mountain.

I went on this ride with my with my 2 sons, ages 9 and 12. We were curious to see the new changes. OUCH!! This ride is soooo rough. My neck and back were really sore. This happened as soon as the ride began. It is so jerky and uncomfortable. Yes, it was cool to see the new Abominable Snowmen, but I will NEVER, EVER, go on this ride again unless they completely replace the track and sleds with something smoother. Even my 9 year old complained that the ride gave him a headache. I immediately took some Motrin when I got off the ride so the rest of my day would not be ruined by my pain. I am healthy and in good shape, so this is not rantings of someone frail. I feel it is my duty to warn others about this ride. I do not understand how with today's technology that they cannot make this ride smoother. Go if you must, but consider yourself warned!

We were very excited to do this as there is no similar ride in Florida. It was fun. I think it was definitely worth riding. A little rough on your back. I think I had built it up in my head and my expectations were a little too high, however, we did still enjoy it even though it wasn't quite as thrilling as I expected.

I like the alpine theme, but honestly after riding the last few times I really noticed how bumpy the ride is. There's two versions of the ride: the Tomorrowland side and Fantasyland side. The Tomorrowland side is bit more rough (more drops + fasters) but neither side feels really exciting like other Disney coasters. The jerkiness and bumps really take away from the ride for me.
Also Single rider is avaliable, just go where the Fastpass entrance is and they'll hand you a ticket for single rider.

I must be getting old because the Matterhorn Bobsleds used to be one of my favorite rides at Disneyland but now they pretty much eat me alive. This ride is rough as all get-out, even the supposed "smoother" side (which is the right; the left is even more jerky with rougher drops). Every time I exit this ride I now feel sick for half an hour afterward and my back and neck hurt for the rest of the day. I think I may soon retire from experiencing this attraction because it's not that much fun for me anymore.
The new bobsleds are cool looking and you no longer have to stuff yourself in one seat to share with a second person (thank goodness), and the ride has had some updates including adding a SWEET Yeti effect. That's the best part of the ride by far and it's worth suffering through a ride just to see it. The ride also affords some gorgeous views of the park after the initial climb.
This is by far the wildest ride in Disneyland park, even though there aren't any loops or major drops. You've been warned!

I'm kinda a wimp when it comes to roller coasters and like to know what's coming, are there any huge drops or turns?
