- George F8 contributionsPacking District SurprisesI took the family to the Anaheim Packing District for lunch. There are many different food offerings at the Packing District located on two floors. From tasty ramen, to French pastries and ice cream, to good BBQ and Indian Food, the Packing District has something for everyone. The set up is similar to a food court where there are separate food vendors with varying food offerings. All situated within the historic Packing House in Anaheim where citrus products were sorted, crated, and shipped around the country via rail service. Seating is quite limited and the lunch and dinner crowds get very busy. Parking can also be an issue also, however, they do offer Valet Parking at $6.00/vehicle. Since this is a food court type space, not all food vendors are open every day. Each vendor is a separate business, so they set their own hours of operation. Overall, the food and atmosphere was enjoyable.Written March 23, 2022
- GoVols79Chattanooga, Tennessee2,809 contributionsAnaheim Packing DistrictMy wife and I were looking for somewhere unique to eat lunch and Anaheim Packing District was the perfect choice. There is a small parking lot adjacent to the building and street parking in the surrounding area. Inside is a food court type building with many different options as well as some small shops. We enjoyed walking around and seeing the various options. We each tried different places to maximize our options. We really enjoyed visiting here and would return if in the area again.Traveled as a coupleWritten January 15, 2023

They’re still currently open for takeout during covid, and at the time we went, we were able to eat outdoors in socially distant tables. No dine-in is available. Several restaurants were still closed when we went, so check the website or Google beforehand to see if what you’d like is still open. Parking is available on the street or you can parking in one of the limited spots of their lot if you’re lucky. There are a couple of 10 minute spaces as well as EV charging spots. During busier times, you can park in the structure down the street. The vibes are typically chill although I remember pre-covid, it was super bustling and there were always people trying to take photos in the aesthetic first floor. You enter up the stairs (the bottom floor is open, but you just can’t enter). Masks are required and there’s a security guard at the entrance if you have any questions. Overall, there are a ton of small businesses inside that you can support, and from what I’ve seen, there’s something for everyone!Traveled with friendsWritten December 20, 2020

This was our second time going to the Anaheim Packing District while in California. This visit was just as good as the last. I tried White Elephant this visit and the Panang Curry was very tasty. There are so many options here that it's great for a group who have different tastes.

This was a fun place to eat and hang. We were here on a Saturday and it was not too busy. The only thing we ran into was some kind of parade that had us getting turned around and rerouted. The food choices were good -- there was something for everyone. We were a group that ranged from 18 months to 74 years old and almost every decade represented in between. Each one found a dish that they enjoyed. There was a duo that was playing music which added to the "fun" ambiance of the place. The workers at the booths were super friendly and helpful. This is a must visit for folks.

Basically started the day running errands, the dry cleaner could not find the clothing. They ran the belts around the store several times. Looked in the back of the store. Finally as we about to leave and wait for a call, they found it. After this I needed a drink, and we had been In Anaheim and visited a cousin, so we were close to the Packing District. Anyway, not having been before, really did not know what to expect. First sign that this a popular spot was the difficulty in finding parking. I had worked in this area in the late 1970’s and it has changed beyond my recognition. I kept looking for something familiar but it was like looking at someplace new. We entered and found many wonderful looking restaurants, many people and some lines. These are all Mom & Pop, small operations, no chain stores in here. Found a small 4 seat theater, I mean movie house seats from the 1950’s. Watched the short film loop, and learned a few new things about Anaheim. That the Packing House is 101 years old, built in 1919, that German POW’s worked in it during WWII. All type of foods are available and beer and wines too. Great place to spend a couple of hours wandering around and looking around for dinner.

Walked from Anaheim Accom and was well worth the exertion. This is a cool place with a wide variety of eating options in a relaxed, cool setting. Something for everyone including the 2 Vegans we had with us.

I was entertaining a guest from out of town and I wanted to show them this unique place. I gave it a low score, to be fair, we never got in. The parking was full. We looked around the area to find somewhere to park but we could not park anywhere that we felt safe enough to leave our car.

I have visited the Anaheim Packing District twice in the last year - once with business associates and once with my family - and both times were a great experience. There are many food choices and great restaurants here (we really enjoyed Georgia's southern cooking on our last trip) along with a few shops and nice spots to sit down to enjoy your treat. The restoration of his beautiful, historic space was very well done. Your group or family can come here, divide to pick up each person's food wishes, and then reconvene for a nice outdoor meal under the California sun (or stars).

We have taken friends here a few times and it is a great place to take a group who has different food preferences and dietary restrictions as everyone can get what they want. It is a cool industrial vibe and it is always pretty crowded (you may have to park a few blocks away). I enjoyed the falafel plate from Mangal and my friends enjoyed plant based burgers and fries, pulled pork sandwich, crispy chicken sandwich, jamabalaya and blackened chicken pasta.

Went here for dinner at the recommendation of a colleague. Food Halls are becoming really popular across the USA and this place is no exception. While walking around we saw someone order some anti-gravity noodles from 206 BCE. It was gimmicky, but it worked, and the noodles and sausage were still pretty good.
The variety and quality of food here is way better value than anything near Disneyland. Highly recommended.

Fantastic and creative way to reuse an old warehouse! Wish I know little more about the history of building, and more about the Orange factory.
Love the set up and all the food vendors. It was a neat place to go for a big family that wanted a variety of food for diner. The pie hole, black sheep, boiling pot is just few places we tried that delicious.
It does have limited seating since was to cold eat out on the patio.

Pre COVID, this place is amazing! I have NOT been there since the restrictions, and Covid stuff. Prior to all that, this area is awesome! This is going to be long so, bare with me! First off, pay for the valet parking! It don t cost much, will save you the headache. Parking can be a nightmare. Park your car, and enjoy the area! This a great place for dates, and just getting out! The food options are amazing! Google “The Blind rabbit”! I had no idea about this place! Until, a wall opend up while, my daughter was enjoying a crape. Yeah! The wall just opened! I was leaning against it! Disneyland thing, Speak easy,/pirates of the Caribbean/ Alice in wonder land/ Harry Potter/ steam punk/ mixology place can’t really put my finger on it, or the kind of vibe but, really awesome and, the staff is amazing! Very easy to talk to, and they answer all your dumb questions, like mine, as to what they are setting on fire, and what the contraptions are doing. Make a reservation! Like 20 people max capacity! Perfect for a date night! Just do drinks though unless you are into fancy food. Would have preferred one of the many options available in the packing house. Just not my thing. Asian place across the street, great noodles! Walk down two lights, hang a left, house of chimney cakes!! GO THERE! Then, walk down to the DUCKS hockey arena and watch amateurs skate and play hockey! Air conditioning, and, a full bar! Awesome!

We are coming to Anaheim from New Zealand in September, we will be staying at Howard Johnson on south Harbor boulevard. We will not have a car, is this place easy to get to via public transport or what do you recommend is the easiest/quickest/cheapest way to get here?

The easiest way to get there / go back to your accomodation is UBER. The public transport is not that developed in the area and passes by every 30-60 minutes, depending on the time of day. Additionally, most buses drive by 1 street - in vertical / horizontal lines, so in most cases you need to switch buses to go from one place to another (unless they are in the same street :)). We walked once, it was dark and at moments not very pleasant, because you go through a few shady-looking neighbourhoods plus below highway to get there from W Katella. Not a very pedestrian-friendly area. However, all is forgotten once you reach the destination :)

At one time, there was a small grove of citrus there; but there is not now. There are solitary citrus trees in that area for decorative purposes, but no groves.

it's sort of a communal gathering place with a bunch of restaurants in it. Trendy fusion cuisine seems to be a recurring theme . it's very neat. There's music at certain times, not sure if mostly weekend
Not too far from Disney

How are taxi rates from Disney Park to the Anaheim Packing District? Party of 5 we don't want to rent a car.

We stayed about 4 blocks away from Disney and I found the rates very reasonable. However, I would highly suggest using Uber. My dealings with them have been INFINITELY better than taxi anywhere. Make sure to request an Uber X. You'll get a Mini Van or large SUV. Plenty of room for 5 for that short trip!
