It was nice to have restaurants easily accessible and close to our hotel on a recent trip to Disneyland. A lot of empty spots in the "mall" and stores didn't open until a bit later (we had thought we could hang out here after check-out...More

Didn’t live up to my expectations at all. What a waste of an opportunity to make this place an amazing shopping precinct. We went on a Sunday and nothing was open! It was practically empty! The only things open were a bar, a surf wear...More

This was a lovely place to walk around. There were wonderful art walls to take photos in front of. We found Bubba Gumps to be inviting. We were pleased with the wait times and service. The few shops we popped in had employee's that greeted...More

The mall itself was a little disappointing... kind of had some of the type of shops you see at forgotten malls before they close; however, there are some pretty good restaurants. We went to Grassroots and loved the place! If you’re looking for a place...More

Great shops and neat stores. Too bad parking management is terrible. They didn’t accept our validated parking ticket from Bubba Gumps and made us pay!! We won’t be back!!

When for a walk here since it’s close to our hotel. There really isn’t nothing here to do, a few stores, restaurants. The best was the shaven ice shop, they have the 24k ice cream for $15.00, shave ice is $7.00 but it’s huge. It...More

The Anaheim GardenWalk has a good selection of restaurants but the retail stores are not very busy at all... we have never seen it busy when we have visited. It may be the selection of the shops.... The shopping area must be slowly withering... compared...More

Hi Yes you can walk through the Garden Walk . There are a lot of steps and a very windy ramp when you get to the other street. I stayed next door at the Kings Inn so I went down the street to traffic lights. Have fun.

budget accommodation near Anaheim GardenWalk (4 Replies)
Hi all We are planning to visit Disneyland for 1 day and intend to spend 1 night there. Is there any recommendation for budget accommodation (dorm / backpackers type or preferably to be around 60USD per night) near Anaheim GardenWalk as we want to take LUX bus to Las Vegas in the next morning? The bus terminal is at Anaheim GardenWalk so we would like to stay nearby. Alex

Check out the Super 8 on Katella, a short walk from the GardenWalk mall. If you really want budget, I've stayed at Little Boy Blue Inn across the road from GardenWalk and had no problems :)

Good restaurants near Disney - will have a car. (35 Replies)
For the first time I'm renting a car the entire time we're staying near disneyland ( sort of a waste I know since so much is within walking distance ). My question is - are there any great restaurants within a few minutes drive that most people don't get to? or do the restaurants at DTD/ Anaheim Gardenwalk/ and along Harbor pretty much have it all covered? BTW - we're there in August, family of 4 ( kids 14 & 12 ), love mexican, italian, burgers and pizza.

Car can get you to good restaurants outside of Disneyland area for the family. A small sample: - In-N-Out Burger in Fullerton on Harbor and Orangethorpe: the legendary hamburger joint is a straight 10 min or so drive from Disneyland. - John's Incredible Pizza at the Buena Park Mall, by Knotts Berry Farm : fun family place in an all you can eat setting. Lots of kids games too - Anaheim White House : good Italian food in a white house building.

Trip report to Disneyland, Legoland, La Jolla & San Diego (12 Replies)
Thanks to everyone who helped me prepare for our 6 day stay in California (3 days at Disneyland, 1 day at Legoland, 1 day planned for the beach, 1 day in San Diego). I did a lot of planning which in general terms paid off despite the fact that everything did not cooperate with my plan. Some background info: our family of 6 (us grandparents, our son & DIL and two 8 yr old twin grandkids) traveled for the first time together. I was the “travel agent” and had to figure out everything with...More

Thanks for the TR. Feedback is always helpful. How in the heck did you find Park Ave Steaks & Chops? There are three steakhouses that are walkable that are better and one of the best steakhouses in Orange County is The Ranch and that is like a mile from the Best Western Park Place Inn. I'd have never sent you that far for a steak.
