We had an hour to kill in Alameda and, it being a nice sunny day, decided to check out this State Beach. The parking here is somewhat odd (at least over by the dog run in Washington Park where we left our vehicle) - some...More

You have to get to Crown Beach reeeeally early to secure a picnic table for your family and friends. It can be very windy and chilly here but it is such a delightful place full of grass, trees, access to the beach and on clear...More

picnic on the beach across from the shopping center. Plenty of space for adults & kids. Surf shack at the far end rents equipment and lessons for wind surfing and other beach/water sports

The area is pretty nice with tennis courts and a basketball court. There is a big dog park. There are some walking paths. The beach area was terrible. The water was way down. We were not very impressed.

It's very chill and laid back. It's a nice place to listen to the waves and rest in the sun. The sand is very dusty and has lots of grass growing in it. The water gets deep quickly too so be careful. I would definitely...More

This is a nice place to relax and look at the views - of San Francisco or a sunset? There are facilities at the park, so it is popular with families. Check the water quality notices before swimming.
