About
Born in Durango Mexico, Ricardo has lived in California for over the last 25 years. The Accidental Artist has been creating his metal animal kingdom, since his daughter Lianna at the age of 6 requested a dinosaur of her own for Christmas, after watching the movie Jurassic Park III. At the time he was a cowboy boot salesman, having traded a pair of boots for a welding machine. After a few weeks, his first sculpture would be a 20ft tall Tyrannosaurus Rex. What started as a hobby quickly became a passion to transform metal into incredible life like creations. Since then Ricardo has become a well-known sculptor designer.

Amazing Art with Bigger than life sculptures
Nov 2020 • Couples
We met the artist, Ricardo himself when we visited this weekend.. He made all those sculptures in the Fields of borrega springs , free for all to enjoy and thanks to his Sponsor Dennis Avery of Avery Labels..
Please do check out his private studio right in the "open" gallery, on his land lot...Always wondered how he managed to create and move these 30 foot larger than life sculptures ...must be quite an endeavor!

Spectacular display of Art
Nov 2020
After a long day of hiking in Warner Springs and driving to Borrego Springs to view the Ricardo Brededa metal sculptures located in Galleta Meadows, we finally headed home up Highway 79 towards Temecula and eventually Moreno Valley. A Trip AAA Westways magazine article informed us that Ricardo Breceda has a Gallery & Sculpture Garden In the little town of Aguanga, (located about 20 miles east of the city of Temecula). After being wowed by his creations in Borrego Springs, we had to stop and observe more amazing sculptures. The Gallery & Sculpture Garden is the multi acre studio and display center of Ricardo Breceda amazing works of art. The art created by Mr. Breceda are metal sculptures ranging from the small to gigantic. Row after row of all types of large to small creations, are on display. At this location, different sculptures, from lady bugs to dinosaurs are for sale. Prices range from inexpensive to “Are you for real.” This location is on Highway 79 and is totally worth the visit. We especially enjoyed the Transformer, Alien and Jesus on the Cross sculptures. A plethora of dinosaurs, horses and other wonderful creatures stand in stately rows awaiting your inspection. Each one is a masterpiece, with attention to detail. With all the dinosaurs on display, one would think you are in Jurassic Park. One piece, the stagecoach rendition was the most remarkable. The expressions on the face of the horses and stagecoach driver and shot gun ridder are spectacular. The leather straps, the curve of the hooves, the movement of the legs, the muscle definition. Amazing. The curtain frills and luggage tacks are just a few of the numerous details to be seen. So many beautiful details. The horse’s manes and tails look as if they are blowing in the wind. It is a spectacular piece of art and well worth viewing. If your interest lies in smaller pieces, the display of insects and desert creatures is for you. Wife fell in love with the ants, bees, tarantulas, lizards and desert plants on display. Spent an hour plus taking in the sights. Be advised there is no pressure to purchase a sculpture. You are free to walk around the grounds, take photographs and enjoy the sculptures on display. Picnic tables and restrooms are located on the property. Masks and social distancing required due to Corona Virus regulations. Having viewed the works of this talented artist in Temecula, Borrego Springs and now Aguanga, California, I must admit I am utterly amazed and highly recommend that everyone should view and enjoy these wonderful works of art.

Amazing sculptures!
Nov 2020
We drove past and actually made a u-turn and came back to stop and take a closer look. There are a ton of art sculptures and they all look amazing. There are a lot of very large ones that you can easily see while driving past, but there are also quite a large variety of smaller sculptures, colorful pots and other artwork. It was definetly worth stopping and taking a look.

Nice for looking not for shopping.
Oct 2020
We decided on a desert drive to take a break from the pandemic lockdown. Advised by Westways magazine we followed the map down to Ricardo Breceda Sculptures in Aguanga California. Admission was free but there is a donation box. There were many creative pieces on display here large and small. Supplies must come from a salvage yard as many car parts can be seen repurposed into these pieces. They put the rust in rustic as each piece is red with rust. At first we were just looking then we decided to make a purchase. That’s when we noticed there were no price tags on the items. We questioned the vendor and were quoted art gallery prices for discarded sparkplugs and worn out disc brakes rotors. We countered only to rudely rebuffed. They have a very large collection out there and perhaps they want it to stay that way. We did what all the other visitors seemed to be doing, take pictures and move along. Good weather and a pleasant scenic drive overall a great day.

Wow

Ricardo’s artworks in Borrego Springs are one of a kind , massive works of art and downright amazing so you would want to meet this amazing artist and purchase some of his works in person. In his gallery in Aguanga.
I bought a cactus for 60 dollars and lady bug for 10 dollars and found its home in my patio.
The rose with quartz stone is so pretty as well as the motorcycle and the peacocks. It swings by the way
There’s a donation box if you could not find any of his sculpture into your liking.

Fantastic Sculpture
Nov 2019
The metal sculptures are awesome, Dinosaurs to Elephants, many over 6 feet high. There is a huge variety of animals and other sculptures; many could fit on a table. Kids would love this place. Expect to take about 1/2 hour; more time if truly shopping. The walkways are dirt, so plan on getting a little dusty below the knee.

Wow.... so cool to see more sculptures by the talented Ricardo Breceda. His talent doesn't end at Anza Borrego State Park. You can see transformers here, as well as other sculptures that he has imagined and turned into reality. HOpefully you have the pleasure of meeting him like i did. He does sell his items, but not pressure. He also has a donation box. Various angel wings throughout the property for that cool insta photo! Easy parking.... Enjoy
