Just a short path up a hill leading to a bluff, a five-minute walk at most. It's got a great view of all of the surrounding area, you can even see the Ouachita Mountains. You're right by the Ouachita River, but you can't go swim. The drop is at least 60 feet and you will probably break something if you fall. There is a pavilion there with a fire pit at tables and wooden lawn chairs overlooking everything. Very nice. Along the trails are informational signs about Native Americans. That's about it, it's right by a Pizza Hut so grab a pizza and walk to the pavilion and enjoy the view.

The solitude and the view of the river were a great way to end a long day of driving. This trail is asphalt, shaded, wide and level even for wheelchairs, and winds for just a quarter of a mile to a bluff above the Quachita river. There are chairs to sit and enjoy the view. There is pavilion with a fireplace and a few tables and benches. It was just before sundown when we walked and the quiet among the trees and the squirrels was a welcome wind down before dinner. Parking lot. Free. Check this out if you can.

If you are nearby, this lovely place is worth a stop and a quiet meditative walk. It is clearly not this a vacation destination.

This is a short walk with a phenomenal view! I needed some fresh air and found this gem. There is a lot of different seating areas there and a beautiful pavilion. If you get the chance you should go!

I was in Arkadelphia for a graduation, but wanted to check out a bit of the town on my own. I was told about the DeSoto Bluff and decided to check out the trail and the views that it offered. There is a decent amount of parking in the adjacent paved lot. The trail to the bluff is also paved and has information signs along the way which provide insights into Arkadelphia’s history. The relatively short trail leads to a bluff which provides great views of the Ouachita River. This site appears to be currently under renovation. But it did not diminish my enjoyment of the trail or views from the bluff.
