Since 1964, Phoenix International Raceway has been the premier motorsports venue in the Southwest. Founded as an open-wheel racing mecca, PIR was proud to host the Desert Diamond West Valley Phoenix Grand Prix Verizon IndyCar Series race under the lights in April. Phoenix is the only track in the West to feature two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekends a year, beginning with the Good Sam 500 race weekend in March. The schedule is anchored by the upcoming Can-Am 500 race weekend in November, the semifinal race in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup after which the field will be reduced to the final four championship contenders.

A great place to watch a race. A little loud but the track is layed out quite well. We've been to 3 races . The best expierence by far was sitting in the sky boxes. Great food, private bathrooms ,special parking, comfortable seats, elevators and a great view. These boxes are an exceptional way to enjoy a race.

I've been here many times, and I always love to come watch the races. We have sat in different spots around the track for NASCAR races. Our least favorite spot is the hill, i definitely recommend the seats. I will definitely be visiting this place again.

PIR has been in existence for many years. Back in the day, several NASCAR teams would stop at PIR to race while on their way back home from the previous weekend's race at Riverside, Ca. Being out in the desert like it is, Parking is never a problem. LOTS of room for RV's! They simply plow up more dirt! Plenty... More

I have lived in this area for a long time but went to my first race recently. I was very fortunate to get a seat in one of the suites. The outside seating was vey loud and hot. A few people got sunburned. I thoroughly enjoyed this experience. It was very exciting!

PIR is a great track to watch NASCAR races. People are friendly and the track is getting more exciting as the pavement ages. Get an infield camping pass if you can afford it, or at least a pre race pit pass if you have never been up close to the cars before. Fall race is packed since it's the second... More

I suggest you pay extra and sit in the Allison Grandstands (Turn 1 and 2). The seats have backings and are wider than the other grandstands.

Beautiful setting for a race. The mountains surround the track on two sides and it makes for a cool view. This places offers free parking also. That's nice!

My son and I attended the Indy car races at PIR. Overall, the track staff are very friendly and helpful. The facility is well maintained and bathrooms are kept clean and well supplied, even with the huge crowds. There are ample food and beverage selections as well as parking. You do need to be prepared to do a lot of... More

Lots of walking involved especially with a pit pass, but for my first nascar experience it was pretty awesome, especially in the first row of seating right before the finish line.

We love coming here, meet our family and friends here. Camping is always fun, except this year. Some jerks stole our generator. Be sure to use heavy chains, our cable was cut clean. Probably not a race fan. Most likely jerks not into racing, thieves are scum. But we still had a great time. Sunday cup race is always crowded.... More
