We have taken the Dolly several times. It might be boring for younger children. It is a nice boat ride with good commentary on what you see and the history of the area. Be sure to dress for the current weather, as the water magnifies it. Sometimes you may see curly horn sheep.

Our kids got us a dinner cruise for Christmas, a wonderful experience on Canyon Lake. If you are staying in the East Valley, this is a must do.

Great trip with family - lots to see through the canyons - wildlife - birds - long horn sheep. Crew was good. Very close to the Lost Dutchman Park and Tourist area and the Little Grand Canyon

Excellent boat trip with a professional, knowledgeable and accommodating crew. The Captain pointed out many, many points of interest and wildlife. He gave a great description of the differences among some of the cacti, varnishing that occurs on the rocks and some alluring sights of places to camp overnight. shelter inside the lower level if too hot or too cold.... We booked this the day before so we didn't expect it to be crowded. I was surprised at the length of the check in line a half hour before boarding so it is best to get here at least a half hour before she sails. There is an upper and lower deck with inside and outside seating. I was impressed... More

A great trip. Bald eagles, big horn sheep, lots and lots of birds. Captain of the ship was constantly pointing out features, wildlife, and seemed to truly enjoy his job. The other members of the crew were as equally professional. The ship appeared to be in excellent condition. We will definitely do this again. I don't know why "risky" was... More

My husband surprised me for our wedding anniversary (which happens to be on New Year's Eve) with a trip on the Dolly Steamboat. It was a twilight dinner cruise. Although the weather had been a bit cool and rainy earlier in the day, it cleared up nicely in time for the cruise. Didn't know what to expect, but I can... More

Wife, son, granddaughter, and went on the 1.5 boat tour on the "Dolly". It was fun and so much to see. Saw some mountain sheep, eagles, and of course the canyon. Would I go again? You bet! Really enjoyed it.

This is a great day trip for snowbirds or anyone visiting the area at a very reasonable cost. The hour and a half cruise around Canyon Lake is a treat---amazing rock formations, terrific array of cactus, wildlife (we saw several big horn sheep), birds, including eagles and the captain giving fun facts about the area. Appreciated the friendly and helpful... More
