On a long road trip we booked this park for a 1 night layover. Wow. We totally wish we could’ve stayed longer. As we were driving there the boys were searching for a basketball court nearby. Well, amazingly we pull into our spot and there is a court right there! Well the games were on. We dragged them away from the game for a walk across the street to the pond and all of a sudden they see a dock in the middle of the pond with a high dive! BTW, the only one left in Alabama. Well the shirts went flying off and they were diving in. So fun! We got there kind of late so dinner was a concern. Big Tip - Use Tiger to Go service. They deliver to the park if you give them the gate code. Lots of good restaurant options. The next morning went on a great hike to beautiful waterfall, pretty short hike. Unreal. And if you can, check out their beautiful cabins for rent right on the water. Next time bringing our bikes and staying longer. Must see stop!!

We camped in Chewacla for nearly a month from mid - May and were pleasantly surprised. The park has two small camping loops that offer various types of sites, most with shaded tree cover. Nothing to brag about with the bath houses, but didn't affect us as we are a self contained unit. The park itself is pretty with a large lake, numerous trails of varying degrees, and two small waterfalls. All the trails are multi-use for hiking AND biking, so beware. In addition, the park has really great bike trails, bike parks with ramps, jumps, course, etc. We were lucky enough one day to meet one of men who started the bike trails and he told us all about dragging the old power poles back for the bridge...trail names for him is Pete's Sake. If you are a biker or have kids, this is a great park to let loose on a trail bike!! Staff were all friendly. This is a busy park as the locals all seem to enjoy it as well.

Visiting Auburn with teens and adults and wanted to get the family outdoors. This park was perfect. There is the $4 per person charge (which is unusual since parks are usually per car...but hey) - however we did enjoy the hiking. Lots of trails for mountain biking - and being a mountain biker myself, I was elated to see the variety that was offered! Will go back for those! hiking trails were good for the family and if my kids were little, it would also be a great place for them - a great variety of trails. My only concern - the map and trail markings were a bit difficult to follow. We did change trails often - easy to medium to hard - but found it tricky to follow the map and trail markings were a little scarce to my liking. Though - I will definitely be back!
