You can launch your boat and keep it behind your lakefront campsite! We stayed in loop E. Very few campgrounds have this feature. The park is well taken care of and neat and tidy. The campsites are spacious with fire rings and picnic tables. Showers and bathrooms clean and well maintained.
Glamping is available with amazing setups of cornhole, kayaks, firerings, and hammocks. With heating and air conditioning.
There is an area to camp with your horse to ride trails.
There are 2 boat ramps and a camp store with some basics.
All staff was friendly and helpful.

We spent Sunday-Thursday camping at the park. Our site was across from a waterfront site, which luckily was vacant and our view was not obstructed. The lake was clean and fun to swim. The bottom was not mushy or rocky, so it was comfortable to walk in the lake. The park has lots of amenities that are still closed because of Coronavirus, but we still had lots of fun!

We have camped many years at Wind Creek State Park. We camped in a tent when my children were small, a pop-up camper when they were teenagers, and now we have a camper. We have rented the cabins and enjoyed them too. We have brought our grandchildren and now they bring their kids. We have encountered a few problems over the years, but when we talked to the staff, the problems were handled. No, the park is not perfect. It is not a million dollar resort, and doesn't pretend to be. I am sure if you look for the negatives, you will find them anywhere at any park. However, if you want a fun vacation with beautiful scenery, peaceful surroundings, pleasant walks, then you won't be disappointed. The noise of children laughing and splashing in the water, the squeak of bicycle wheels as children ride on the roads, the sight of the squirrels running through the leaves, add to a very enjoyable experience. Wind Creek State Park is a very enjoyable place to spend leisure time.

great location. right on the waters edge of Beautiful lake Martin. However Camp sites are extremely close together and there isnt many trees or landscaping around or between the campsites, just a bunch of concrete pads right next to each other

2nd review for this park. Wanted to give it a two this time but our lot was large so the 3 is there. BUT, you have to basically protect your Waterfront lot as the Park does not ! People from all the other sites try to use your site as a cut thru to the water, bike ride or just to walk. No asking and no child supervision. There was VERY little enforcement of Alabama Traffic laws..actually about zero. Small kids riding on tail gates, 8-9 yr olds driving golf carts, adults/kids riding jet skis WHILE being towed behind truck. Boats loaded with people being towed behind vehicles. Indiscriminate cruising of the park was very prevalent and not enforced. People riding on Jeep roll bars...most of this was seen by Park employees but didn't matter. Loud, revving engines after dark AND ZERO social distancing. Water pressure was very low entire 2 weeks. we actually cancelled our other 2 weeks as the Park is more "mob" like on weekends. The rules/regulations you receive, cover what I have listed. It is extremely dangerous to not ENFORCE your own rules. Especially the Alabama Traffic laws ! One more thing.... there is no set time they consider sunset.. We were run off at 7:01 from beach area but the other nights varied. Anywhere between 7 and 8....there choice. There is an actual sunset time guide but don't think they know it. They lost an extra ? 350 dollars due to this p[lace Not following there on rules. Is it fun..yes in october to February. Spring/Summer ..NO.....very unruly, disorganized and lack of any Enforcement for Traffic laws. HUGE safety issues. Sorry but there is the story and it is all true...don't believe ?? Go see for yourself. Someone/child is going to get hurt or killed by lack of enforcement.

Visited in mid July obviously it was pretty hot...but wow! What a great place. We stayed for a week in the new loop by the water...word of advice Spend the extra money...These sites are great, very long and wide and new. I have a 45' 5th wheel Toy-hauler with side and back patio and had plenty of room plus plenty of space for extra vehicles.
We fished right there, rented Pontoon boat was fun, swam everyday right off our site and had a great week. They even had a little BBQ festival which was a lot of fun to attend as well..can't say enough...drove 900 miles and had never been here and would definitely go back.

If you like to break the law or just don't care about the law, this is the park for you ! My third review written and nothing has changed. (actually worse). ZERO lack of safety enforcement for common violations. Kids 10-13 riding ON TOP of SUVs.....yes that right. ! children with age groups of 5-10 always visible on towed jet skis, sitting in boats or riding around on tailgates open. IF your rules state enforcement of Alabama traffic laws then ENFORCE them before a child gets KILLED !! It's coming ........ just wait. Negligence is rampant in this park and one day it's going to bite. My advice to anyone is get a waterfront lot and ENFORCE your own "rules" . People will take advantage of cutting thru and dont ( but probably do) understand you paid xtra for your lot. There is plenty of riff raff down here so be aware. I come due to wife and her sister vacation coincide otherwise....no way. I have been to many parks and NEVER seen the lack of safety/respect or enforcement nowhere like this ! If you like lawless, crowded, dangerous (unrestricted bike riders) this is for you. Highly don't recommend. this is true aii the way. any questions and I am glad to answer !

We are staying in the delux sites. They have twice the space. Full hookups ( water, sewage, cable) nice concrete slab. The view is spectacular. We are at the very end so less traffic and noise. This is one our new favorite places!

We enjoy fishing off the Wind Creek Park fishing pier. We usually catch at least a few fish and if we have a bad day of fishing we still enjoy the natural surrounding. The birds and turtles and nature in general are beautiful from any location at the park.

I cannot say enough about Wind Creek State Park. I have been going there for 40+ years. Camping area is beautiful and well maintained, as is the day use area. Fun for the entire family.
