We did not know the stairs were there until we luckily saw it on a map! Having seen the Exorcist several times it was fun to visit. The stairs appear just like they did in the film. My husband climbed to the top. Lots of people going up and down. If you are nearby, a quick visit is all that is needed. There is a plaque on the walll honoring the film.

If you come to Georgetown for a visit, you will need to visit the Exorcist steps. The steps are next to the Car Barn and they are steep. Some days they can be very crowded between runners and tourists. There is a plaque on the lower part of the steps. Worth a visit even though there is not much to them.

If you like horror movies, you MUST check it out. This is where it all went down. Go at night during a light rain for maximum effect. We did and it was totally deserted and totally awesome. The Exorcist house is right next door at 3600 Prospect. Some of the windows were lit up in weird blue lights last night.
Note: The stairs are steep and steps narrow. Steeper than they look in the movie. Be careful and watch your step. You don't want to end up at the bottom with your head turned completely around - facing backwards.

It was so much fun I visited 2x
1st visit was with my senior beagles and a friend. 2nd time was with friends ( beagles stayed at hotel room) I recommend to go. You won't be disappointed. Not sure how it is there now in 2023. I was there in 2018 and 2019. I think the gas station at the bottom of the stairs has been demolished.
**There was no option for the years I went above** Hopefully they fix that little glitch

I visited during the day, so, as other reviewers have noted, it can be underwhelming. But I’m sure the creepiness factor increases as the sun goes down. When I visited there were a couple of people running up and down the stairs for exercise (this is common, per my friend who’s a local). My friends and I walked down the stairs, and they are actually pretty steep! If you’re in Georgetown, you might as well stop by the famous “Exorcist” steps for a quick look and/or walk.

If you're a fan of the movie, definitely worth a visit. The nearby Georgetown University will complete your visit to these stairs - they offer tours around the campus, so do have a look if you want to see even more locations used in the movie.

The Exorcist Steps are on my top 10 list of places to bring friends that are visiting DC. Make sure to pull in the adjacent parking lot for a quick walk.

This is a fun little stop if you are in the area . The neighborhood at the top of the stairs has a few places to eat but parking can be challenging .

A short walk from the dining and shops on Main Street in Georgetown. There is a plaque on the side of the building at the bottom of the steps. Careful, they are very steep! May not be suitable for all to climb.

Es que cette endroit est toujours très fréquenté ou on peut y faire de superbes photos sans y avoir pleins de passants

Está abierto al público el lugar? Porque veo que hay algo parecido a una cerca....
