Beware of Owner -
I called Segway about my tour for a large family group - and happened to get the owner on the phone. I explained that my sister could not stand long for more than 30 minutes at a time and needed to join the group using her electric sit-down scooter. I said of course we'd pay the full rate she just needed to use a different vehicle.
The owner said no, it could not keep up. I explained that it was built to travel at speeds faster than the segways. He then said he had insurance to worry about and didn't want her to sign. I told him, fine. She won't be part of the official group. She can just follow along after us and join us at the public monuments along the way. He then said that "No, I don't want her following the group, that would distract the guide"
I said "I really don't think you have the right to prohibit someone NOT part of your group from using the paths, streets, or parks. There are ADA laws that allow folks access to public spaces. His response was "What kind of person would threaten a small business owner"?
Answer: the kind of person who will cancel their tour and write a review like this.
