Saw our third play at the Studio Theater. Always a unique experience with quality acting and serious subject matter. We love the intimate size of the theaters. Can’t wait for our next trip to DC to see another show. A+

Saw a show here over the weekend. It is in a great location between different districts of DC. They do really cool shows, and it is a great place to see shows which are different. Great thing to do in DC!

My husband and I are repeat season ticket holders. Need I say more? We love the diversity of plays, the strength of characters, and the array of shows presented in the various venues within this building.

Studio has four small theatres, featuring contemporary plays. The productions here are first rate. Most plays involve adult themes and are not suitable for children. Profanity and nudity are not uncommon.

DC is a great city for a summer vacation, but after visiting all of the attractions on the Mall in the heat and humidity - The Studio Theater provides tourists with a chance to be equally entertained indoors (with A/C) at a fraction of the cost of a typical ticket to a show at the Kennedy Center. I recently saw Carrie the Musical with friends visiting from Ohio and they loved the show, along with the cool, hip vibe of the theater and its neighborhood. There are plenty of choices for dinner and drinks before and after a performance at The Studio Theater. My favorite spot is Le Diplomate. The food is fantastic - everything from Mac & Cheese to Steak Tartar! The restaurant has a lot of energy and is a bit on the noisey side - but if you are looking for great people watching, service and food -- this is your place.

We come to DC for a month each winter, to see shows, do museums and generally get our "big city fix." We had not been to the Studio Theatre before and booked tickets to Admissions--their most recent show. We enjoyed the theatre space--very intimate and pleasant. The performers were quite good and after seeing relatively mediocre shows at Arena and Woolly Mammoth, we were extremely pleased at the quality of the production.
This has quickly become one of our favorite spaces for theatre in the DC area.

This 1-act ("Admissions" extended through March 3rd) slices into the liberal angst of having political correctness and getting into Yale too. Excellent ensemble acting to accompany the humerous, but challenging, subject matter.

We completely enjoyed the afternoon performance of Kings. The cast gave a stellar performance on a topic that fit in perfectly with our visit to Washington DC. We thought this unique, intimate venue was an excellent choice for this play.

We went to Studio to see "The Fall," a 90-minute play with a South African cast that takes the audience into behind-the-scenes discussions of Black African Capetown University students protesting first a statue of Cecil Rhodes and then an increase in tuition fees. The sit-in-style debates are at once impassioned and familiar for an American audience. Not great drama, but nonetheless powerful, and occasional video clips in the background make it clear that the events described in the play are actual. The theater itself is a gem. All good seats, great acoustics...what more could you ask? My only "complaint" is that parking in the vicinity is either difficult-to-impossible on the street, or remote and expensive in paid lots.

I’ve seen a couple of plays here and both were exceptional. Every seat offers a good view. The audience is small and provides an intimate feel.
