Great experience seeing Ted Leo/Pharmacists and Street Stains here. Clean bathrooms. Good drinks. You can watch the show from tables in back or stand. Very nice place!

So, I read all the reviews before we went, and was a little worried. We took our 13 year old daughter to see a BILLIE EILISH concert. We had a Great Time! She had a Blast! The Bartenders were very nice and helpful. The staff...More

I've been to the Black Cat a number of times. It has an upstairs, which is a large space for alternative/punk/indie shows, DJ nights and other random stuff like burlesque performances. There's a downstairs with a bar, a restaurant (called Food for Thought) and a...More

Comedy worth the $15 for a few chuckles, but not after the front desk staff and roadie stage guys were so needlessly rude. They were actively being sarcastic, mean-spirited, and unhelpful to us and others, and put the comics in a hole Eddie Murphy in...More

Black Cat reminded me of the grunge rock venues of my youth. Dark, a little sketchy, but with surprisingly clean bathrooms. Went to see Bad Cop Bad Cop and The Interrupters, and decided it would be the perfect first ska show for our kids (10...More

I loved Black Cat. The atmosphere was intimate and a very cool venue. The staff was friendly and the place was clean. Also, the acoustics were great for the bands that we saw.

My sister, niece and I visited the Black Cat to see comedians Sasheer Zamata (SNL) and Kenny Deforest. The tickets were AMAZINGLY reasonable for DC at $15! The format is VERY basic, chairs with a low stage, but I was on the third row and...More

Don't expect any type of lighting if you are seeing a band on the backstage. Also, be sure to not accidentally wash off your stamps you get at the door or they will threaten to throw you out when they randomly ask to see your...More

We saw a show with several acts, each with a different vibe. There were several points in the show where the sound was out of balance - music too loud, vocals too soft; feedback issues; at one point there was a persistent buzz behind the...More

The venue has 4 different areas for concerts, etc. It does help to get there early, but not like more than 2-3 hours early. If you don’t, you will probably still be fine. Cash bar: yes! They didn’t ask for exact dollar... More
