Terrific playground all year round

I understand that Friendship ("Turtle") Park is being completely renovated, which can only perfect this truly wonderful playground. As it was, it offered an enormous sand pit for little ones, lots of fun climbing structures, and a great splash pad for hot days. The play area was nicely shaded. In addition, there are playing fields and tennis courts. I can't wait until it reopens. It can only be more fun.

I grew up going to this park. Made lots of friendships there. Very safe and good play structures for kids. Very good location with an occasional ice cream man in the summer!

Confusing location & average park

I have read somewhere that there is a turtle park in DC where they have a stone turtle and a good kids play area. So my quest for visiting this place with kids began.

I went to their website and then using the directions (which points to Google maps), it took me to a Park with 5 small Turtle statue & near Eastern market. (45th & Van Ness Streets, NW DC). This place has literally nothing. Just 5 small statues and thatz it...:(

Then I rechecked my navigator and tried to google something. Another Turtle park came in search results and its real name is friendship park.It does have a children's play area with basketball & tennis courts, baseball field etc. Its address surprisingly is 4500 Van Ness street NW. :)

So this is what the website purports to pint but if you use Google maps it takes you to some similar location.

So coming to review the park, its a nice little park for kids with a water fountain to play water games. They have lots of toys on the play area which kind of were not very clean as they were outside all the time. So I was kind of conscious on this aspect.

Visited once and may not really plan to visit again as I can get to visit better parks with Virginia itself.

Turned out to be plain Average for me.
