To begin with, I'll say I've never done a chauffeured tour before this one. I never really even considered an option, but now I'm hooked! This was one of the best tour experiences I've ever had from beginning to end.
Because you're driving you can cover a lot more ground in the same amount of time as walking so you get to see so many different aspects of the city. But contrary to bus tours which also cover a lot of ground, since this is private you get a more engaged and personalized experience than you would in a bus tour. Also way comfier!
Our tour guide was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic that it was really contagious. And their excitement wasn't only in the way the information was presented to us, but you could tell the same energy was put into the research. It wasn't just your run of the mill stuff - each step of the way we got really cool tidbits and pieces of trivia that I'm not even sure how they learned!
Finally, the price was very reasonable for the special, personalized experience we enjoyed. Well worth it - strongly recommend!

Wow! We're so glad that we got to give you your first chauffeured tour! They are such a fun way to see DC. We love being able to customize our chauffeured tours and make sure each one is the right fit for our guests! We are huge geeks for DC and it is always a delight to get to share our knowledge with others; and a chauffeured tour is one of the best ways for us to really pack in the sites and information! Bo was our guide and he made it a great experience starting with proactively offering to delay the start 90 minutes due to rainy conditions. E-bikes were heavy duty and easy to use, they enabled us to ride right up to each monument and maximize how many of them we could visit within our two hour timeframe. Seeing monuments lit up at night is stunning and Bo shared just enough stories to make each one memorable.

Our guides love to be flexible! We know that the weather doesn’t always cooperate, and we want all of our guests to have a safe and fun experience; so if that means rearranging the schedule, we’re more than happy to work with our clients to do so! So glad to hear that you found the electric bikes easy to use. We just love them and love the experience that they’re able to provide. They make sightseeing a breeze! We always recommend that those new to the District should see the monuments and memorials lit up in the evening, they’re so beautiful! Thanks for this kind review!

Washington, DC is an overwhelming city - museums, memorials, monuments, parks, oh my! DC Insider Tours was a life saver when I was planning a DC trip for my family. Although I live here and thought I had a good handle on DC, they helped me with nearly every aspect of our trip and then the tour was insanely good! We opted for a private chauffeured tour (a family of 11 of all ages) and we saw more than we thought was possible. It was great to pack in so many sights, but the commentary was incredible. Whether we were inside or outside of the vehicle (a new and clean Mercedes Sprinter), the guide, Bo, was sharing information that really brought the city to life. Bo's passion and enthusiasm for the city is infectious and made this the best part of my family's trip. I recommend them to anyone who wants the best from start to finish. By the end, we felt like we had a new member of our tribe. Thanks Bo and DC Insider Tours!

I had the fortune of doing two tours with Bo in April 2022. I thoroughly enjoyed those experiences, so I was keen to do another tour on my recent return to DC. To say this was a good decision is an understatement!
Bo’s astonishing knowledge of DC’s history together with his palpable enthusiasm for the city make him one of the best tour guides I have encountered on any of my travels. He created a tailored tour itinerary, taking me through the Library of Congress, the US Capitol Building, parts of the National Mall I hadn’t previously visited, as well as parts of Downtown DC where some of the city's shadier history has unfolded. The day flew by, I learned a lot, and I had a wonderful time hanging out with great people.
I highly recommend DC Insider Tours and I plan to engage their services again on my next visit to DC. There is so much to cover in and around DC, and this company offers such a wonderful way to discover it.

I visited Washington DC for the first time in April and booked two private tours with DC Insider Tours. This was definitely money well spent!
On my first tour, Bo led me through a number of DC’s finest museums, including the Natural History Museum and the American History Museum, supplying fantastic commentary. On day two, we headed over to Dupont Circle, took a stroll down Embassy Row, and then wandered over to Georgetown, finishing at Washington Harbour.
I second the comments of other tourists who’ve commented here on Bo’s passion for DC and its history, his amazing energy, and his remarkable knowledge of DC history. Rest assured that if you book a tour with Bo, you’re in good hands. I’m returning to DC in the second half of 2023, and I’m already looking forward to touring more of the sites of DC with Bo.

Bo was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about every single details around the monuments and points of interest within the city. I booked this tour with family coming over different cities across the US and it was worth every minute of it. He actually took the time to recommend amazing restaurants around the White House. My family had an amazing time. Definitely will do it again. Thank you Bo!!💙

As a native Washingtonian, I was not sure how much I would enjoy a tour of DC. However, I was very excited to share my hometown with some of our business leaders from other places. I was blown away by how much I learned during the tour and how much everyone enjoyed it.
Bo's passion for history is infectious and entertaining. Listening to him was like becoming a part of a secret society of people in the know. We learned so much more than the standard spiel about the places we visited and he was refreshingly candid about both the positives and negatives of our nation's capital.
As a 9/11 survivor, I had never been to the memorial at the Pentagon. It was a powerful experience that I wasn't fully prepared for, but it was also an incredible way to end our night. He helped us to see the memorial in the way that it was intended to be seen which significantly enhanced our experience. He pointed out details that I would have never noticed on my own.
It was truly a special night. As an event planner, this tour was a unique team outing that was a huge success. I'd strongly recommend it to groups who want to try something different. I am so happy that we skipped having another a fancy dinner or team building event and opted to make a special memory together.
Bo wasn't alone in making our night magical. His colleague, Erica, and our driver were absolutely helpful and just so sweet.
This was one for the record books!Q

This year I wanted to do a little something different for a team-building event. Instead of a dinner and night out in DC, we opted for a custom, private tour with DC Insider Tours. We had a really nice, upscale party bus and were able to bring our own snacks and drinks. Bo & Erica customized a tour based on what we wanted to see and talked about the sites in between. We all learned so much and had the most amazing time. Seeing the monuments at night was really cool and we all learned a lot! Bo had so many fun and interesting stories to tell. His passion for DC's history is unparalleled!

We completed the electric bike tour last Friday. It will be the best activity of our DC trip. It is the perfect thing to do during Covid. The bikes are great and whizz you around the city with no effort. They are not slow. Our guide Bo, was outstanding. He has a wealth of knowledge/history about Washington and he customized the tour at our request.

Best tour ever! Best experience I love he energy of the tour guy he explained everything so clearly he was very funny he knew his history around DC. Next time we're in town for sure will call for his services... thanks for a great experience

Hi! I'll be bringing a 9th-grade class to DC in October of this year. Could you tell me about your electric bike tour? Which sites are included in the tour? What are ticket prices? Do you have group rates? We'll be around 22 people: that includes students and teachers. The students are between 15 and 16 years old.

Thanks for your interest in DC Insider Tours! We would be happy to set up this tour for you, however all electric bike riders must be at least 16 years old according to DC law. So this group is better suited for a walking or chauffeured tour.
