Excellent production -- new music really freshened things up. Wonderful staging, sets, and acting. Toto, of course, stole the show!

We saw Cinderella, Annie and Wizard of Oz this year at the National Theatre. Although the theatre is old, it is in pretty decent shape and it is a fun place to see a show. While the Kennedy Center is a much grander experience, the acoustics are better at the National and you feel much closer to the stage due... More

I took my mother here to see Jersey Boys, which she was so looking forward to, and the staff went out of their way to show me such outstanding kindness. Right before my visit my mother found out she has lung cancer in both lungs. Due to her ill overall health, treatment options are very limited. Sitting there, watching my... More

Saw Jersey Boys last night, and great show was ruined. First half of show group of teens and preteens right behind us ate snacks from crinkly bags and hard candy from cardboard boxes. Mom chaperone obviously did not teach them any theater etiquette. Then start of second act they came back from lobby loaded up again. Also woman next to... More

Saw Mamma Mia here four times...the acoustics are very good, and there aren't really any bad seats in the house. It's close to some good restaurants and hotels (the JW Marriott is literally right next to the National Theatre).

An awesome show. Great story of how Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons got started and continued and throughout their career. The National is a nice , comfortable venue. Mezzanine seating was excellent!

A great performance of Jersey Boys. The National is not as fancy as the Warner and the seating (orchestra) was tight to the point of being uncomfortable for my 6 foot 4 frame. The acoustics are good and the stage was suited for the show but maybe not a more technically complex performance. The theater lacks much of a first... More

I always love The National Theatre. The theater is maintained, convenient, and has good touring shows. We saw Annie and it was very good and the kids in the show were awesome. The one negative was a negative to the production company. They were selling these small stuffed Annie dolls and dogs for $40/each that you could probably buy for... More

Had some great seats and the youngest of the family enjoyed the production as much as the grown-ups. We parked close to the theatre and was able to get out of the parking garage quickly.

The fact that the theatre has been reconstructed many times, including as a result of five devastating fires throughout the 1900's, is a credit to Washington's commitment to the arts. It is still in use today and is a must for any DC tour.
