    MLKJr. Memorial
This is one of the memorials that helps if you have a tour guide or know the background information of the memorial itself. We visited on a night tour, and coming through the mountains of despair, it actually does block off all sound and sight before you break through to the memorial. Just was amazed at the ability of the artist to work in granite! It also helps to go at a time there, or not so many other tourists visiting so that it is quieter and more reflective.

    Fantastic memorial
This is very cool to visit and very accessible. You can walk, scooter or bike to it. Park scooters and bikes just outside the entrance and then walk the 50m into it. Well placed and plenty of space to move around

    Impressive
Impressive, simple in form and located in a quiet location around 10 min. walking from the Lincoln Memorial, where Martin Luther King, Jr. held his famous speech: ''I had a Dream''. The official address of the monument, 1964 Independence Avenue, S.W., commemorates the Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Memorial was open to public in 2011.

    Very tall memorial
The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial is a very tall memorial in the Tidal Basin walk in Washington DC. It commemorates the late Civil Rights leader, MLK. I highly recommend visiting this memorial.

Nice monument for Martin Luther King, Jr. Plan a few minutes to read the quotes and take it all in. Unfortunately, it was raining when we were there, so we rushed through several of the memorials in this area. I wish I had gone a different time where I could have enjoyed it more.

I have visited many places that are significant to the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King.  However, I have long desired to see Dr. King’s memorial in Washington.  The monument is enormous and the sheer size represents what this man’s sacrifices meant for all people in the United States.  Dr. King dreamed of a world were all people could live in peace and harmony and so the size of this monument is indeed symbolic of his dream for peace.
Our tour guide indicated that the bottom of the monument has an unfinished look because it is the artist’s belief that Dr. King’s work was unfinished.  That statement definitely made me think because art often is a reflection of life.
I immensely enjoyed seeing the monument at night because it is absolutely beautiful when illuminated.  In addition, the illuminated monument is a reminder to me that light can never be overcome by darkness.  Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. dreamed of a better world for all and so this monument pays homage to his work, struggles, sacrifices, and accomplishments.  Take a moment to visit Dr. King’s monument because it will definitely make you stop to think about one man’s dream to make our nation a better place for all.

The symbolism in every element of this memorial is perfectly expressed. It is a beautiful and powerful testament to a man who changed our country profoundly. It is seated on the tidal basin, and I recommend walking around the basin to see it from the other side as well. Its power is reflected in the water.

This memorial to Martin Luther King Jr. is amazing. It is an amazing piece of art surrounded by quotes from some of his iconic speeches. At night, the statue is lighted and can be seen across the water from the Jefferson Memorial. It is an amazingly beautiful sight!

This monument is placed at the end of the pathway of the FDR memorial very near the Jefferson Memorial. The memorial is Dr. King's full body and it looks out over the water. Surrounding the memorial are his speeches. It's a great memorial to visit.

This memorial is well done with a beautiful sculpted statue of MLK as the focal point. It is enshrouded on one side with a wall inscribed with some powerful quotes spoken by MLK. On the other side is the tidal basin with a beautiful view of the Washington monument. A powerful monument that should be visited.

We visited this memorial with the intention of quickly passing through to see another famous icon in American History. It was nighttime and we were famished.

However, seeing the memorial at night made us stop and take in the views of the nearby Jefferson Memorial, as well as the illuminated Dr. King, standing authoritatively above us. The quotes on the walls beside his figure were also quite meaningful and made us look inside ourselves.

This was quite near to water and it was quite pleasant to stroll along the water, seeing marble structures lit up and a slight breeze.

This is a beautiful memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., located on the National Mall near the banks of the Potomac River. The statue of MLK is huge and stunning and the surrounding memorial stones make the memorial inviting and breathtaking. The views of the Potomac from the Memorial are very nice. This is a don't miss stop on the National Mall.

This is a lovely monument to our great civil rights leader located on the banks of the Tidal Basin. After passing through a divided sculpture, a towering likeness of Dr. King reminds us of his dream for unity. Many of his eloquent quotes are memorialized along the surrounding wall.
