What a powerful monument. It is newer and they have done a great job. Reading his quotes as you walk around his gigantic statue gives you the sense of awe for what he was able to achieve. You feel the importance of this man and it is on the river. It is a great place to sit and reflect or... More

The MLK monument is very solemn with the imposing ML:K statue, but more importantly his quotes on the walls around the statue itself. It is near the Korean War memorial. If offers a good view of the Jefferson memorial.

Visited this memorial on MLK Day. It was very cold outside, but so many people were there too. Inspiring work of art to memorialize a great man with many reminding quotes to keep hope alive.

Stray slightly south of the main memorial mall, adjacent to the Reflect Pools, and you will find wedged between Independence Avenue and the Tidal Basin a monumental tribute to the Civil Rights Campaigner, Martin Luther King Jnr. It comprises a giant size statue, as if to replicate this man's character & contribution to society, and a semi-circle of marble engraved... More

Just a short walk from the Lincoln Memorial past the Korean War Veterans Memorial you will find another essential stop in your tour of D.C. monuments. The design is beautiful and prompts a lot of reflection.

This was nice I was very impressed. This memorial is attached to several others so you can do several at this one location. Lots of walking but at our own pace.

What a great man, it is about time that we honor him in this country. Especially in the trend of making America hate again.

I had the opportunity to visit the memorial on Dr. Martin Luther King Day while in DC. It was beautiful and definitely speaks to you. The details on the monument are wonderfully done and it really captures the fact that we are a work in progress and have more work to do. I absolutely love the fact that he faces... More

Was in Washington for a week last year and even though it was business trip we had some free time too and made good use of it seeing the sites and museums. Witnessing the memorials of the different events and figures was a great experience

One of several memorials in town but a bit off the beaten path. A must see for the way it's constructed, the inspiration, and the history.
