Very cool to see

This is definitely worth the small walk from the more popular memorials to see. Some amazing quotes are included on the walls. Very inspiring and touching.

Dr. King's philosophy is captured well by the words of his speeches and writings that were selected for display at this outdoor memorial that's in one of the most beautiful settings in DC... especially when the Cherry Blossoms are in bloom around the Tidal Basin.

Not over done. Very respectful of a great man's life. Statue was pretty amazing. Lots of great quotes to read that created a lot of emotion.

It's always amazing visiting the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. Although it was my second time visiting, it was wonderful bringing my mother to visit for the first time. The memorial is full of history and inspiration.

Situated right next to the Tidal Basin, this huge sculpture rises up impressively as an imposing memorial to this great man. It's size is befitting the stature and importance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. as an American icon. The setting is very tranquil, next to the calm waters of the Tidal Basin and the cherry blossoms in the Spring.... More

I loved this memorial best of all. It was serene and dignified. Once again, I saw it as part of the After Dark tour and it was lit tastefully. I could have sat there for hours. Well worth seeing in my view.

This is by far my favorite Memorial so far in DC. You must build in time to take in each quote, but more importantly take in the people around you and watch their reactions and expressions. It is breathtaking.

I've visit this Memorial several times. Taking out of town family and friends there. The best time to visit is at night. The lighting is beautiful and its not as crowded as the daytime.

We think you are supposed to enter from the side past the various quotations. We happened to enter from the direction of the Korean War memorial through the two large cut pieces of rock towards the main piece into which MLK's image is carved. I found this a more moving entrance and makes sense of the inscription on the side.... More

Awesome memorial. It is definitely worth taking the time to read all of the quotes on the two outer walls of the memorial.
